There are many events where an answer is wanted. Obviously there are some where no isn’t needed, but one possible answer is that the person responding is bad at identifying which is which or habitually answers without thinking about which it is

I don’t think it was needed or wrong. It’s something the community has been split on for a long time and either answer was fine.

Like, there was a ban after it hit Mtgo, but it explicitly wasn’t because of that and, having played premodern on Mtgo then and watched results, that also just isn’t what happened. There wasn’t a related collapse of the Mtgo metagame
