Read the sentence without 'Hawk and.' Just read the 'I.' You can use that to tell that the attempted correction is incorrect.

I don't know if you're making a joke but if you take out "Hawk and" the sentence won't be correct when using 'I.' That means it's wrong.

We have an elderly green cheek and he loves this little heater in his cage. I don't have a picture of him cuddling it since he generally leaves it to come see me when I come in but he's always sleeping next to it and hangs out around it if he can't be out.
