last time I checked biologics accounted for approx 37 percent of drug spending even though only about 2 percent of the population is using them

the most expensive one i've used would cost about 10k/month without insurance (for subcutaneous self injection option)

Your reminder that the secrecy, anonymity, falsification, and deception that are the hallmarks of US adoption practices have life or death consequences for adoptees. 🥚

Insurance companies will not reimburse for certain cancer screenings or genetic tests without an attested family history.

I don't have a backpack but I have a bunch of their accessories and have given some as gifts. Everything I've gotten has been awesome and I expect to have it forever.

like a huge part of my dissertation was literally, "do you need that feature online... do you need that at all... why?!?"

and trying to imagine a world where whatever this hellscape is was not assumed to be inevitable. honestly it was kind of an infuriating set of projects.

yep. i used to be able to remember everything without writing it down. at first i thought grad school ruined my brain, and it probably did, but also everything has so many more moving parts for no reason!

Opinion | I’m a health researcher. NIH’s pause on research grants could have a devastating cost. This is a potentially devastating event — not just for the scientific community, but for all Americans.

there is no "safe driving" on ice when you live in a state with almost no plows, no gravel trucks, no salt trucks... no infrastructure

I learned to drive in Minnesota in March, and my ass doesn't leave the house when there's ice down here in Alabama

It's really important in general (but especially this time of year, with lots of gatherings) to make sure you have *good* options for guests who don't drink.

It's not just great for those I'm recovery- it also includes those who don't drink for medical or religious reasons, or just don't want to.
