All those ‘tacticos’ who were at pains to diminish what the likes of Henderson and Milner brought to a Liverpool squad should now be able to see their value. The garbage and lack of effort we’ve seen from Liverpool this season absolutely would not have happened in their era.

It’s looking more and more like last season’s success was more about Klopp’s legacy than Slot’s ingenuity.

We all thought that Richard Hughes pulled a blinder in the summer. Undoubtedly, we managed to recruit elite talent. The problem is, there was clearly no joined-up thinking in terms of how to integrate that talent into a functioning team. I fear we’ve set ourselves back years with that outlay.
