💪🚌Thank you to EVERYONE who showed up, wrote in, and spoke up about RIPTA funding in the last few weeks and at last night’s hearing. Our important House finance hearing is behind us, but we have a long way to go!
Stay tuned for next steps for RIPTA funding!
We're glad to support our partners at @neighborswelcomeri.bsky.social, along with being proud of @bobdasilva.bsky.social's leadership on an issue that is very important to us: housing affordability. (5/5)
• When forced to choose, 69% of respondents believe building more homes is more important than preserving "neighborhood character." 🏗️
• There is overwhelming support for solutions, ranging from 90% approval for building conversions to broad majority support for parking reforms. 🚗 (4/5)
Poll Toplines: Rhode Islanders Demand Action 📈
• 91% of residents agree that housing is a significant problem across Rhode Island. 🚨
• 61% strongly agree that the state legislature must take decisive action on housing. ⚖ (3/5)
EPiC members were glad to be in there in support of the release of this poll demonstrating what we were already hearing from our neighbors: that there is broad support for action to address housing affordability in our city and state. (2/5)
Today, @neighborswelcomeri.bsky.social held a press conference at East Providence City Hall releasing the results of their housing poll.
We thank @bobdasilva.bsky.social, State Rep. June Speakman, & State Sen. @meghankallman.bsky.social for being there for the release of this important poll. (1/5)

COMMENTARY: After last fall’s service cuts to Rhode Island Public Transportation Authority service, the state bus system's diminished size is not big enough for everyday Rhode Islanders. By @dariaphoebe.com
“The right size for RIPTA is the size where a bus comes when you need it, and promptly delivers you to the place you need to go. The right size for a vision for Rhode Island is one that dreams big, and delivers, not one that tells people just to wait a little longer.”
ONE WEEK AWAY: We hope you will be able to join us for our Earth Day Clean Up at Veterans Memorial Parkway on Saturday, April 18th from 1-3pm.
We'll have a sign up form up soon. More info coming soon!
Faith-based affordable housing is gaining momentum nationwide. 7states (and counting) have passed laws that make it easier for churches, synagogues, and other faith institutions to build on their land. Now, Rhode Island has the chance to bring new homes for people who need them.
We agree! Looking forward to seeing you there :)

NEW: RIDOT has quietly scrapped plans to put a $25M federal grant toward a bike path off the Henderson Bridge that would have linked East Bay Bike Path & Blackstone River Parkway
At Trump administration's urging, the money will now go to paving Pawtucket Ave instead
"Disappointing," says EP mayor
