cilantro for cilantro's sake is difficult here because bolts so easily outside of early spring and late fall, especially on my full sun balcony, but if I'm looking at it more from deliberately bolting it to get the flowers and seeds it's a nice vertical one.

In some of the pots with creeping herbs, like the Golden oregano, to gently encourage it to root in particular directions (with a little bit of dirt on top and then some light rocks on top of that). we'll see, but if this works like I think it might I'm going to become a fucking menace.

spread out the water so it seeps down more evenly rather than one big sploosh. I could see the moisture retention being an issue when we get one of our rainy stretches but you just pick up the rocks then. I do want some nicer rocks in different sizes to play with. I'm also playing with them

Just in terms of surface area to volume ratio I think the stoned are going to make a big difference on the little seedling starters containers in terms of moisture retention, So I don't forget about them for 36 hours and all of a sudden they are powdery dust dry. I've realized it also really helps
