I will never understand this industry in the US. Like what do you mean for a paid chorus/ensemble position I have to be an independent artist who also lives locally to the org. but to be considered for any kind of soloist or principal role I have to be a managed artist from out of town ???

I finally bought a portable nebulizer and they way I’m entirely too excited shows what a lame adult I’ve truly become
Omg I was not prepared for allergies to overtake me so immediately 🤧

Really missing my time in this fantastic production of Dead Man Walking. I have a lot more music coming up that I’m excited about but I still can’t get over the fact that this experience went by so quickly!
Can’t believe it’s almost time for my next debut! Two weeks ago I was Joseph De Rocher and this Sunday I’ll be singing Jesus of Nazareth in Bach’s Johannes-Passion
I don’t seem to understand the concept of rest
Took a sick day and spent it:
✅ updating my resume
✅ updating my bio
✅ submitting audition applications
✅ drafting new web copy
✅ napped with the pups 🐶🐶
Korngold's The Sea Hawk, conducted by Vasily Petrenko on Sunday at the Royal Festival Hall ⛵
Want to discover more Korngold? We're performing his Violin Concerto with soloist Liya Petrova on Tuesday 8 April at Hull City Hall and Wednesday 9 April at Cadogan Hall.
Co workers at the keyboard (slackers)
Post-production blues are hitting real hard
Not a composer but a performer here. I’ve started saying to people “So what did you like about it?” Truly am only interested in compliments at this time thank you
As opera singers I don’t think we talk enough about certain topics when it comes to roles:
💠 learning roles from scratch
💠 working with conductors & anticipating their needs
💠 proper acting techniques
💠 dramatic integrity
💠 vocal pacing
💠 performance anxiety
💠 proper rest
I’ve never done ANYTHING as difficult as portraying Joseph De Rocher but I’m loving every second of it
A reminder that this entire Trans Panic thing is just another shitty step in a long history of fake panics completely invented by political hacks.
Trans people are very likely not affecting your lives at all and they certainly are not the cause of any problems on a national level. It's BULLSHIT.
The stage looks enormous from this angle 😂 #sitzprobe
I forgot how exhausting staging and tech rehearsals are
Early staging rehearsal of Dead Man Walking. Can’t believe my role debut is in 6 days!
So annoyed that I haven’t made myself sit and watch Conclave. I read the book twice last year and loved it lol
The Hulk & The Thing shaking hands. Hulk is labeled “TRANS PEOPLE” Thing is labeled “Transphobes” Their handshake labeled “HATING EMILIA PÉREZ”
watching the oscars
Like absolutely no shade to Zoe Saldaña for her win. She’s an acclaimed and deserving actress. But the movie itself was insulting to anyone involved with music-making on any level - particularly narrative driven vocal scores
I’m borderline disgusted that there is any competition at all between Emilia Perez and Wicked. Even more infuriating that it’s receiving nominations and awards
Staged both finales of Dead Man Walking this morning! Exhausting and terrifying but very worth it
Coming in April! Bach’s Johannes-Passion sung in English & German, making my debut as Jesum von Nazareth
Last night I sang like a damn pro in my rehearsal
Today I’m spending my day off in my jammies watching Shrek

The daily life of a performer is….kinda boring. I have a big rehearsal this evening so I’ve spent all day cleaning, walking my dogs, and warming up. That’s all
The Met season on the other hand is a damn disaster from bottom to top
I think #SanFranciscoOpera has my favorite season next year! Such a great selection to curate
@dunkindonutscoffee.bsky.social + morning dog walk is UNPARALLELED 🧡
I’m so exhausted today every muscle in my body hurts
