ROBLOX: BACKROOMS REDACTED
THE most expansive backrooms game with 100+ areas and its own wiki
its roblox, so there are other players, cheesy NPCS, and some areas with annoying entities. some levels are meh and others are SUPER impressive. if you find the right places, you can spend HOURS exploring
screenshot of a pink poolroom with palm trees and floaties, very cozy
screenshot of a dark dark room with a bounce castle in it
screenshot of an endless wall of apartment windows. the floor is entirely water with partially submerged suburban houses sticking out
screenshot of a bright liminal space with rainbows on the wall and a balcony
LIMINALSHIFT
currently playing this one, its VERY good. very tense without explicit monster chases (so far at least! i'm sorry if i'm wrong). some rooms genuinely freaked me the fuck out
will be finishing this one on the big TV at my gf's house, which means it got my stamp of approval B)

screenshot of a dark play room with foam platforms
SUBLIMINAL
i wanted to love this game like i loved the demo. was hesitant about the dialogue, but the graphics are STUNNING and the waterpark is eerie
unfortunately after the waterpark it becomes 100% nonsensical puzzles and 0% exploration, too many monster chases. i'd love to see it improve :<

BACKROOMS: LIMINAL ESCAPE
i LOVE the VHS vibe of this game. it does have some buggy areas and ineffective monsters, but i like some of the mechanics they involve in theory! this game would be easy to fix
god the parking garage areas creep me out so bad
screenshot of an endless ocean with a blocky structure sticking out of it and wind turbines emerging from the water

a screenshot of a scary dark children's playground inside a room with yellow carpet
a screenshot of a poolrooms with windows with clouds and rectangular overlapping pools
BACKROOMS: LOST TAPE
unfinished, i like it for what it is! has varied areas!!
i personally dislike mannequins/human sculptures in the backrooms. i dont find them scary. IMO they distract from the backrooms' purpose as an absurd mimicry of human architecture, but i know this is an unpopular opinion
screenshot taken from the bottom of a tower-like megastructure
screenshot of a warm yellow-orange arch structure that fades into the horizon
NaissanceE
not really a backrooms game, but this is a free megastructure exploration game that you should absolutely play if you enjoy liminal spaces
a total vibe, i wouldnt class this one as a horror game at all. its just beautiful and took my breath away once i realized how HUGE some areas are
screenshot of a dark, destroyed-looking room with a streetlight
a liminal bookstore devoid of books, with 'store closing' signs hanging from the ceiling
a weird liminal room with an outdoor streetlamp, office ceiling lights, and the front end of a suburban house. the wallpaper is realistic clouds
BACKROOMS REMINISCENCE
some people didn't like this game due to the presence of some monster scares as well as dialogue, but the liminal spaces are VERY eerie. tension is built well, so its not a jumpscare fest!
worth playing despite a few things i would change! the areas that work REALLY work
screenshot of a dark backroom with lamps and a checkered blue floor, the back is entirely cast in shadow
screenshot of a pink vaporwave style poolroom with ferns and palm trees
screenshot of an abandoned mall with an intense vhs effect
BACK*SPACE
free demo, game is unfinished. well-made, no monsters, i recommend checking this one out, if the dev keeps taking it in the direction it's going i think it will turn out really well!
the VHS effect is actually a bit too intense, works for screenshots but you can turn it off to play!
screenshot of liminal city skyscrapers with a blank white sky
screenshot of a dark parking garage with cars
screenshot from the top of an incredibly tall building with a pit in the middle that goes down as far as the eye can see. iron beams go across it
screenshot of a dark red foreboding city
LIMINAL CITY
this game IS VERY MUCH worth playing, despite the presence of some monsters and scares that didnt work for me
not many backrooms games use city areas, and there are multiple other areas as well that look just as good, including grocery stores, malls, pools. preys on a fear of heights
screenshot of a unique backrooms room with nonsense stairs and balconies, and multiple darkened exits
screenshot of a dark liminal room with many stop signs sticking out of the floor and a balcony with no railing
the RC car, used to enter small areas and unlock doors. this is one of the best interactive mechanics ive seen in any backrooms game
TAPE 101: LIMINAL DESCENT
free demo is out now, but the full game isnt done yet. but i absolutely LOVE the unique RC car mechanic used to unlock areas by moving through tunnels humans cant fit in
very tense, top tier backrooms imagery, a lot of the rooms really freaked me out
screenshot of an abandoned mall interior
screenshot of a liminal movie theater hallway
screenshot of a dark poolroom with nonsense architecture and slides
ANEMOIAPOLIS
very good. interactive, has puzzles, you can go down the slide, i love that it critiques dystopian american architecture
dialogue takes me out of a backrooms game TBH, but this game is ABSOLUTELY worth playing despite the presence of dialogue. it's done well and not Too obtrusive
screenshot of a weirdcore-type endless suburbia with hills, white picket fences, and a water tower
screenshot of an illogical closed in apartment complex building
an even creepier liminal suburb with a blank pale blue sky and connected, lifeless looking gray houses.
DREAMCORE
INCREDIBLY good and LONG compared to most other liminal games. atmospheric, no monsters, lots of suburban horror which really works for me as someone who finds the suburbs horrifying
has that weird VHS effect that really puts it at the top tier for me.
a screenshot of a poolroom with greenish lighting and bright windows you can't see out of
a poolroom with a slide curling around a pillar
screenshot of a dark eerie poolroom with partially submerged suburban homes. the only lighting anomalously comes from the houses
POOLS
no jumpscares, very atmospheric, beautiful lighting. top 3 poolrooms-focused games for sure. +2 points because you can go down the slide, feels more interactive that way
it's a walking simulator but i personally really enjoy those, it's up to you whether that's for you!
screenshot of a dark dimly lit hallway with nonsensical kitchen furniture
screenshot of an empty hotel lobby
screenshot of plants in a dimly lit enclosed poolroom
THE COMPLEX: EXPEDITION
top tier, no notes. THE game to play if you enjoy liminal spaces at all. i don't want to describe this too much and instead just encourage you to buy it
it's $15 when not on sale, but steam games go on sale often
You can absolutely take the following thread as a list of recommendations:
the ideal backrooms to me has the implication of being watched. almost as if the place itself is shifting, questionably alive, but without the explicit presence of monsters
but i do love different "biomes". unpredictable, just randomly stumbling into an unfamiliar region
I'm working on reviews of as many atmospheric liminal space games as I can find
Since they're almost exclusively indie games, I will be gentle and constructive with any critique. I have a very specific taste in backrooms games but I respect a dev's choice to diverge from that if it's done well

Furry has been kinky since the beginning as illustrated by these photos from Confurence 1993 (curated by www.instagram.com/d0gfag/) There has always been a demand for adult spaces in furry. The fandom was founded on the idea that adults can use anthro animals and cartoons to express adult interests.

id love to finish head and hands at the very least, and then i can just wear my bontail. buuuuut id be fine with literally just having Warren's new head
starting to get incredibly hyped for anthrocon. even if i only manage to finish my new head that's fine

I am once again asking you to get involved with what your friends love. Even if you're not as into it as they are, the excitement and joy on their faces when they get to info dump and geek out to you is everything.

I've wanted to draw a sturgeon gal for awhile so I thought I would doodle one as a warm up. I think she is so cute!
