Very true. If Undertale is a era-defining masterpiece I feel like we'd see way more popular games that are like it and that's really not been the case for me. Only other Undertale-like game I've seen is Deltarune.

Two feral monsters in latex and iron armor. The larger beast is broad and muscular with two long horns emerging from the brow of its iron mask. The front is like a muzzle with circular holes around the mouth. Armor plates cover it's back, forelegs and tail. It's hind legs end in hooves and it has a long thick tail. Its unarmored underbelly and erect cock are fully covered in black latex. It stands in the center of a cathedral, crushing the pews beneath it. The smaller creature floats behind it. This one is an incorporeal red flame possessing a suit or armor and latex. Its iron mask is more slender and hound-like with curved horns. The red flames fill a hollow latex torso and empty iron gauntlets to make up its forelegs. The flames spew from around the mask to make a firey mane. It has no hind-legs, instead the fire tapers into a wispy tail that swirl around the head of the larger beast as if caressing it. The red flamas glow in the larger beast's eyes to show it is being possessed.

The beast was content to don the mask and allow the flames to engulf its mind. Galvanized by the will of its companion, it became the burning soul's volition made manifest. The Forge Lord's masterpiece.
