Oh yeah, and I'd also avoid being tone deaf as much as possible, and proofread any public apologies or clarifications with minorities that could be affected by what I type. Because I care deeply about my work. But yeah, I guess that's just me.
But again, that's just me. Other people can have, what I personally believe to be, a delusion of complete control over every possible way their art is "officially" perceived.
"Preciosity" is the word of the day. And any artist knows how damaging it is to their own art.
I have accepted some of my favourite artists only trust themselves to produce certain aspects of their art, as much as I disagree with that notion fundamentally. And I have accepted some of them have priorities I vehemently disagree with. But it still stings.
I've seen case studies of artists who, so deathly afraid of their work being dilluted, do not delegate an ounce of work, and hurt themselves physically and psychologically in the process. To the point their art suffers for it.
I am a Hunter x Hunter fan, after all.
If it were me with the resources & global reach & total writing credits, I'd always want to evaluate with complete scrutiny what my work is being translated to and why. Obviously, knowing the language would be ideal.
But I would get that damn translation done no matter what.
I can't be super specific, but I'll just offer my opinion
If I had the resources (I don't) and deeply, deeply, deeply cared about my work (I always do), I'd ensure it's accessible to everyone globally. My authoral intent & writing are important, but not as much as accessibility.
ABYSS X ZERO vertex paint showcase!
Here are some comparison between clean models and how they look after I add vertex paint!
It really helps with the retro look and it's very fun to do! Probably my favorite part of the entire modeling process!

Resident Evil 2 (Remake) is very funny sometimes
...Sadly I found the story and the overall pacing to be... quite poor >.< Things happen suddenly or without reason, important moments are brushed over, and it doesn't truly feel like there's a lot of substance going on in the underlying narrative...
I really enjoyed the different Promotion trees each class had (Summoner feels INCREDIBLE to play as!!) and I loved the characterization of almost everyone, very happy there are "infinite" optional skirmishes to help level everyone up and their supports! <3
My favourite this time around was Neimi, but she didn't become THAT much of a powerhouse by the end, unfortunately. Don't get me wrong, the team is kind of insanely strong, but she's not the one-man-army Florina used to be, so the growth rate item didn't feel as impactful :x
I know I've been a bit MIA, but: I'm about to beat Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, so this is how my team and supply look like right before the last chapter!
I'm also already more than halfway through with Path of Radiance, been on a Fire Emblem binge the past few months, hehe.
Just... I don't know. Don't know of anywhere where me saying "I don't like / I like this thing in this/these game(s)" would be met with a "Interesting, why's that?" or "I don't feel that way, but I understand where you're coming from".
Only would be met with jokes, backhanded bias or ignored.
Wish I knew of a place / had a place where I could discuss my thoughts on (or see discussion of) game design or games freely without people being biased/confrontational/apathetic.
HOWEVER, outside of new releases, there are a LOT of games I started (although not beaten) this year that take the cake for favourite experiences... I cannot WAIT to play them more~
For me (and regarding what I personally played, of course), my GOTY is really a competition between these three. And it's a VERY VERY close competition...
...but I think I'm more willing to give E33 the cake here. What a phenomenal game! <3
Well... Time to enjoy my birthday the best way I can think of.
Oh. Okay. I guess "Balance" really is just a suggestion in this game's design.
(Been having... a tough time enjoying the game a lot. These types of inconsistencies and boss design choices are just the tip of the iceberg for me.)
Oh my God this.
a perturbed looking wolf girl with an arrow pointing to her and a caption that reads: (more than a little frustrated at how people see her kindness and optimism as a sign of naivete rather than the result of consistently having her anxiety spirals and doomsayer thoughts proven wrong by many genuine people over the last two and a half decades of her life and that this is not the tactic of a fool but one of someone who has seen the effects that believing in the future and in other people can have on those around you)
its tough out there but so am i
Drawing if a tired puppy with the caption; "This too shall pass but like wtf"

Coming to Steam Sep. 18th Ahhh!!
It's been a while.
Glad to be announcing a new game, and happy that it is something experimental and weird: a tiny, tense, turn-based strategy game about merging units into spectacular combinations, and then watching them evaporate thousands of bugs.

mind prison
After a lot of time spent this weekend, the system is almost completely functional.
It calcs cap chance (based on LV, HP, Dist, Aware) & has a fail state.
In the future, needs more camera angles and animations. Also missing the part where you compare stats afterward.

Honestly? The dream is to make a game that gets one single person so into it they make an account that posts about it all the time, like the quest 64 guy.
That's a massive success as far as I'm concerned.

gunbuster is legitimately one of those series i think everyone should see. the amount of anime that owe something or other to gunbuster, whether knowingly or not, is probably uncountable
