Absolutely loved Operation Mincemeat; it completely exceeded expectations.
What a brilliant, talented, versatile cast! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Tracksuit trousers when not actually at Pilates/the gym, or worse, outfits that look like they should be pyjamas…
Hats! Definitely. And after watching the first season of The Crown, my 17 year old thinks headscarves should make a come back as they save hair in bad weather! 😆

Happy Easter
The heads do remove 😆 There’s this woman who started removing all the makeup paint from Bratz dolls and then making them look normal and healthy. Pop the head off easily 😆
That would look really great on a Tree Change doll 😁
My job is to buy the yarn. The eldest creates with it.
This gorgeous cashmere is destined for a ballet wrap.
We were split 2 2 🤦🏻♀️
I thoroughly enjoyed it, although I wish we’d given greater time to the last couple of rooms.
It was the London half
Marathon when we went and so we walked an hour to get there through the pouring rain… and then had to buy Turner socks in the shop to change into 😆
Was it perhaps the Turner Constable? I really enjoyed that exhibition immensely, but as a family we differed on our favourite.
Not as busy as usual! Were you early in the morning?
Urm… bbq it??
Monday - Friday, I like to be up go listen to the bird song that starts radio 3 breakfast at 6:30 while making coffee. It’s a gentle start to the day before the chaos of work 🤦🏻♀️
We watched Alexander Campbell’s last ever performance two years ago. He chose to retire with this and it was just absolutely magical!
My kid refused to join in frequently at that age, and thought toddler class was a waste of her time.
She’s now training to be a professional ballerina 🤷🏻♀️ 😆
Oh good!
My ballet girl is going to the under 30s night on a great seat we’d never be able to afford otherwise. That’s the William Bracewell and Fumi cast.
She’ll try and get a few last minute standing tickets for other casts.
And I’m going to try and get a resale too 🩰
Are you seeing Mayerling in this run?
I really enjoyed my spur of the moment trip to see this exhibit “Beauty and Destruction: Wartime London in Art” at the Imperial War Museum.
It’s not a large exhibit, but it’s thoughtfully curated. Well worth a trip.

Love this…
Annoying parents aside (I don’t blame the children 😆), the exhibition was simply marvellous and has stayed with me ever since.
What seemed so shocking in the 1990s viewed now is not shocking.
But, in her words, it was never meant to be in the first place.
It stays with me.
Third tip. If you absolutely have to take your young child because 1) there is nobody in the World you can leave them with and 2) you will die if you don’t see this exhibition, don’t bloody narrate it to your child and don’t block other people from viewing with your competitive parenting.
Second tip. Don’t take children to an exhibition which is not in the slightest bit aimed at children.
Top tip for the brilliant Tracey Emin retrospective at @tate.bsky.social
Just at the entrance, and only at the entrance, there’s a tiny QR code you need to scan from 6 inches away. It links to a free audio commentary.
Scan it. And take your AirPods.
It really, really adds to the exhibition.
Ballet Girl obviously gets a ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ review from me for her debut as a choreographer.
“States of Matter” was interesting, intricate and very unique.
Brava!
(I have to keep reminding myself that she’s still only 17 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️)

After loving Zarah Hussain’s Infinite Light in Bradford all last Ramadan, I was thrilled to come across Paradise Carpet as a pop up in the Uni of Leeds earlier today.
You should try and see the Turner Constable exhibition, either at Tate Britain (until April) or in selected cinemas. It was truly awe inspiring.

I watch my first film aged five. My dad took me to see ET at the cinema and it was magical ❤️ We didn’t have a TV at home.
Five is a good age. Much older that, it starts to feel a bit weird….
I ended up watching a film all about a dead mother while ballet girl was in an audition today. Happy Mothering Sunday 😁😆
But it really wasn’t terrible.

I believe ballet girl’s cat thinks if she plays dead convincingly enough, her owner will be stricken with grief and not return to ballet school 😆
