🚨ATTN!!!
This is a critical pearl. See it happen ~once a year

Couldn’t have said it better! Just as many other newer advancements, can serve a specific purpose (is this recently convulsing patient who remains in a coma in nonconvulsive status?), but cannot replace the EEG tech + reader set up. Plus who doesn’t love our convoluted reports? #diffuseslow
As a mom to young kids, I’ve learned that I can’t care for them if I’m not taken care of. Same goes for people in the ICU. #teamscience @caseyalbin.bsky.social @danharrisonmd.bsky.social
In an effort to change the culture and promote wellness amongst my team in the ICU, I often do “care for others rounds”, where I ask others in the ICU if they’ve had a chance to eat, to use the bathroom, to tend to their own needs
I was raised in a masochistic culture where not caring for one’s basic bodily needs was worn as a badge of honor. “I haven’t peed all shift” summarized how dedicated you were to the care of critically ill patients.
An excellent conversation between Dr. Gold and Dr. Silverman about mental health in healthcare. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t... My take:
The amount of times that a different perspective has resulted in better care for the patient shows how important #teams are!
Me!
A critical care account here! Neurocrit care and ICU EEGer!
Hi #medsky! I’m a neurointensivist and ICU encephalographer and I’m passionate about team science and encephalopathy in the ICU. Excited to learn and share with others!
Great opportunity for a new username. Got a chance to use some ICU EEG terminology!
I’m very much struggling to be there but benefited a lot from resources and people
