Tried to take the boy camping in Pitlochry from Dundee, basically 3 stops away. Change at Perth 1hr wait for the Inverness, cancelled 5 min before. 1hr wait as buses put on, 16 at a time priority to Inverness. Trains back on, 50 min wait as more trains arrive with folk for Inverness. Gave up.
