a movie poster for project hailmary shows a man looking at a monster in a cage Alt: A scene from Project Hail Mary. Rocky is in his environmental ball, and Grace is sat next to him. They're in front of a view of New York's skyline from the sanity room. Grace leans against and into the ball, as close to Rocky as he can get. And Rocky in turn leans towards Grace and meats him on the other side of the glass.

I read Grace as aro ace, and Rocky and Grace as a queerplatonic wonder duo who'll form an awesome triad with Adrian when on Erid.

But I'll read Grace/Rocky or Grace/Rocky/Adrian fic if the story seems good. Can still hold onto my view, and embrace work from others with a diff POV. #projecthailmary

I mean, not any more than bacteria do. But yeah, taking a big dangerous thing and figuring out how to make it useful is pretty typical of us.

Péter Magyar victory speech:

"We want to make a country where no one is persecuted because they think differently or because someone loves in a different way to others."

He may not have campaigned as a liberal. But this is a huge change of direction and rhetoric from Orbán’s anti-LGBTQ+ crusade.

Finally saw Project Hail Mary today. Loved it. Except for the centrifuge bit that had me hissing in instictual anticipation of an unhappy centriguge.

I liked the story, the characters, the look. Loved the music. Loved how Grace moved his body and how that helped bring the story more life

And Rocky

Let me get this straight: the Trump admin threatened the Pope and the Vatican with military force in a private meeting, and when J.D. Vance--who has a new book out soon about his conversion to Catholicism--was asked about that meeting, he didn't know the name of the Vatican's Ambassador to the U.S.?

#Artemis II - A beautiful new image released

The Moon, seen here backlit by the Sun during a the solar eclipse.

Captured by one of the cameras on Orion’s solar array wings.

A bright spot visible below the Moon’s right edge is Saturn. Then a bright spot at the right edge of the image is Mars. 🚀🌓🌒

Ooooo! The two look so similar and I have a hard time with that sort of thing (work is hell when someone changes their hair).

I mean, you can't ban Christians from going up or ban them from ever mentioning their faith any more than you could a member of any other faith. He hasn't been obnoxious that I've seen? Has mentioned other faiths etc. Nice to see a positive example as opposed to Trump's nationalism.

He's been fairly inclusive though so, fair enough. There was some pre-recorded blurb played one one of the white guys was talking about how indigenous teachers had taught him about grandmother moon.

Some lunar vocabulary in case you're following along with the #Artemis II flyby:

* albedo: reflectiveness (high albedo=very shiny)

* mare/maria(plural): from Latin for "sea," dark regions on the Moon, which are dried lava basins

* terminator: the line of the transition between sunlight & darkness

I agree with the idea of them coming around speaking Klingon. But switch it up. The Americans are all talking in Klingon, but the Canadian is talking in Na'vi.

And someone has some gagh.

That's home. That's us.

That's home. That's us.

This image of home just came down from the Artemis II crew.

Taken after their translunar injection burn, there are aurorae at top right and lower left, and zodiacal light at lower right.

@transactivismuk.bsky.social I have a query. A family friend is reaching out for resources for parents of gender questioning kids. Websites or parental groups that are positive. Wondered if you had some recomendations.

Was watching a Bill Bailey in #Vietnam show and came across a band called Nam Tộc. Blending rock and traditional folk. Pretty great, liked their work a lot. They're on Spotify and YouTube but sadly no CDs in the UK to be found.Which is a shame cause Dad would love it.

that they have kept their relationship intensely private to the point that this is how we find out is probably the best sign they might actually make it

Given a lot of brain surgery is done with the patient awake, to help monitor things - this could be doable. I'd be asking for it if I were the patient, but I work in a medical lab so I may not be typical.
