We really like 2nd magazine, we import it from Japan. It’s for clothes enthusiasts. Not quite street wear, not heritage, not preppy, not Ivy, not tech, not outdoors, but all of that somehow. The yellow one is the latest and we have a little collection of back issues available too.

We’ve been a bit quite on here recently, but we’re still doing the “find all the best print from all over the place and bring it to the shop and sell it to you” thing we’ve been pioneering since 2018.

Big news, this new one is popping out next week.

We will be closing for two weeks to celebrate/recover/concentrate on it.

Some things are more important than selling stuff. We will be running a 10% off code online. We would love it if you supported us.

I’ve had a look and remember now that we’ve made a flat rate using FedEx as Royal Mail syndicating to Canada Post was throwing up so many issues it wasn’t worth doing. So you’re right, it’s not worth it for a small order, but quite good for getting a few things at once.

Hello, which magazine is it? Some of them are pretty weighty, and unfortunately that does cost a lot

The wonderful @helleborezine.bsky.social scaring the faithful with the old ways, seriously if any of our readers want to magic up some free international media coverage for us by wearing one of our tees to a Cliff Richard gig or something please do

Wild to think that in January Wyrd Science will celebrate 5 years of having more journalistic integrity than the NY Times. Need to think of a way to celebrate.

Picked up my copy of #callinginsickmagazine 15 from the lovely people at @raremags.bsky.social yesterday. If I’m counting my blessings sat by this lake this morning. Rare Mags is definitely on the list. A trove of printed matter & stationary

We are cool, but emailing us the best bet, public shows of affection make us bashful.

Another section of our multi-part pre order saga is the new Tools magazine, this time taking in the act of spinning. We know a lot of you like to do that stuff. So get in on the action, copies hitting the shop early next week directly from France.

A photo of the front of the shop Rare Mags which is blue and contains books and magazines. Either side of the shop are jasmines in pots, a pink bench and a black bench. You can see a bit of pavement and the door is open. The inside of the door is white. The lights are on in the window display which gives a warm look as the overall weather appears to be quite grey.

We’re going to keep hand writing you a note with every web order, hand writing the address label, running events so that people can be in the same room as each other, recommending stuff we think you’ll like, making you a coffee (with a biscuit) even saying hello when you walk in. Ta.

We’re here selling books and magazines (print is dead), in a physical shop (the high street is dead), writing these words using a human brain (we don’t even need to think any more though right?)

We’re here for another week of this stuff. Expect A/W 2025 influx, pre orders for the new Calling In Sick and Tools flying out, new Olga Tokarczuk (!!!), more stationery favourites from Penco, maybe even a Rare Dunk or two.

Just us in the middle of it all. The street is changing around us, hang in there while we get some new neighbours. We’ll be here.

New stuff every day, coffee machine on, every day apart from Mondays, all on the website is in stock, ready to go. Happy to help, we love what we do.
