@stephensackur.bsky.social Thank you for tackling the subject of Reform, Nathan Gill and Russian interference in our democracy with Christopher Steele. The first time I've heard this subject talked about on any broadcast media.

Already missing HARDtalk and @stephensackur.bsky.social, one of the best prepared and well read journalists ever. No sucking up to the big and powerful. Especially in these daring times we'd need more of this clarity, not less. Hope to see some kind of continuation on a new platform. #iconsLiveOn

What a loss for the BBC; there goes my favorite program. Thanks a ton, Stephen, for everything you and your team have done over the years. Mind-boggling that HARDtalk was cancelled – and at such a turbulent time – but I hope your 'new adventures' include it somehow continuing in a different form.

Your final Hardtalk episode was an evocative reminder of the gross error in judgement by the BBC. It's been an invaluable public accountability engine. Thank you for all you've done to make it so. As the US moves into theatrical abuse of power, its cancellation is utterly incomprehensible.

Thank you so much for so many years of the best, most interesting & inspiring interviews available, holding people accountable for their actions & never letting the powerful get away with shallow phrases & excuses. It is a, huge, unforgivable mistake of @bbcworldservice.bsky.social to end Hardtalk.

The BBC wouldn’t recognise quality broadcasting if it was hit over the head with it. Very sorry to hear your going but much looking forward to your new platform.

I’ve just recorded my last contribution for the BBC after 39 years. It’ll be on the next edition of From Our Own Correspondent on @BBCRadio4 and @bbcworldservice
Now onward to new adventures… As my hero Marcelo Bielsa might say, ‘Vamos Carajo!’

The BBC is making a grave mistake axing HARDtalk, says host Stephen Sackur "I fear the BBC is throwing away a precious asset at the worst possible time."

Wrote this for the Radio Times… I care enormously about the BBC which is why I’m trying to be transparent about why I’m leaving and where I think it’s going wrong

@stephensackur.bsky.social Just watching tonight's/this morning's HARDtalk and still feeling furious as a licence payer that the show has been cancelled. More than ever, we need journalists holding power to account. Looking forward to your next venture and sending best wishes.

"I don’t think at the very senior levels of the #BBC there is an awareness of just how big a show #HARDtalk is around the world.”

So many of us, still shaking our heads in disbelief ...

Just a reminder of the fall of the BBC and the Tory lightweight journalists it now prefers - at the same time as ditching their mighty flagship HardTalk programme and the great @stephensackur.bsky.social
