This is an excellent analogy- I’m going to use this going forward.

This.
I’m never going to call it anything else.
I have the mug :).
One thing I love about Bluesky is that people talk about books quite a bit. I started this series years ago and read to the last one and then lost track of it - so cool to see it’s still going. I’ll restart at the beginning - maybe this will get me out of my reading slump.
Or the huge chunks of broccoli or cabbage stalks.
Lost a close friend to this horrible cancer. She was 35, had two sons 5 and 7 and was one semester away from her doctorate. 3 months is all she had. This is the one cancer I really fear since there are very few warning signals and no screen that reliably catches it.
1/4 slice of soft white bread with the pill hidden in the peanut butter. Only way one of my dogs would take a pill. However since it was a border collie you had to randomly give her ones with no pill because after the second time she figured it out.
I really don’t think people put trigger warnings where they should and I did read that and it was a series of wtf? WTF? Seriously What The Actual Fuck? Moments. Jesus. What is wrong with people.
Sous vide makes it easy to ensure chicken and pork are done perfectly. A quick sear and done. Scallops and shrimp too.
Excellent photo - I love the monochrome and such a sweet expression on his face.
Ooh just brown butter and chopped garlic, lower the heat - add the gnochi and brown them then add a little shredded parm at the end.
I got mine years ago so it wouldn’t surprise me if they combined them.
Mine is 25 years old at this point. My sister has my grandmother’s which is far older than that. Both still work great.
I’ve used both and I prefer the tilt-head but I’ve been using that model most of my life. The grinder attachment is super versatile- I even use that for my lefse potatoes instead of a ricer. Note that the sausage stuffer parts are sold separate from the grinder
It was a bit ago that I bought it. If you can find the one of the ceramic lined braising pans that would work great too.
I bought a deep cast iron with lid from Aldi for a great price specifically for this type of cooking. And man that looks great.
I’ll look for those.
Whelp - another baking item I must now bake. Need to find a recipe so I can discover I’m missing a critical ingredient and will have to brave the store on a weekend - based on the picture it will be worth it
I have an older dell and an older surface I’m about to move to Linux - not really high on the list at the moment since I bought a nice Mac a couple years ago. But I really want to move everything off any windows products.
Yes. Exactly right. Helpful but not talking down to you. And only show up if you haven’t caught on to the option.
I spent years telling my devs that if your grandma can’t figure out how to do something it’s not intuitive- engineers think differently than non engineers and we need to lean into that.
This is what I would prefer.
Love other people’s thoughts when I’m choosing the next read so go for it.
I just started the first one and it’s really engaging so far and very funny.
I tried many years ago and it wasn’t speaking to me. I believe I’ll pull it out and try again. It may be the right time now. And lord knows I could use a distraction from all that’s going on.
Nailed it.
Jeez. That Super Bowl commercial where a guy was sucking the cheese dust off fingers that weren’t his came to mind immediately. Weird how things pop into your brain - I haven’t thought about that one in years.
Congratulations - that’s worth bragging about.
My most quoted movie - even named one of my cats Abby Normal - trust me - it fit.
