Ah... if only they could change a deeply ingrained toxic work culture to allow people the time and energy to raise a family...
oh, my! Actually a bride or cosplay wedding dress?
oh, man. That rings so true and horrible.

The First WORLD FENCING LEAGUE is happening April 25th!!! I'M GEEKING!!!
Japanese engineers developed this "Sword Tip Visualisation" tracking technology specifically for this event that will make it so much easier for the average person to see what's going on!

The final spread from Simpson and Gibbons' "War Machine- Roque Trooper "
A Heavy Metal special issue from 1993
Unfortunately war and corporate greed are still timely.
Hope they do this right!
Had to pull this off the shelf just now!
I worked with a bunch of late Millennials and this was, almost universally, their fave film
Lovely. Such a fun design.
Not a knock on the final but in the thumbnail I thought it was an autogyro...
Eagles are so funny to me. I got stationed on Kodiak when I was 17 and was immediately enthralled at the majesty.
And then I heard their call. Rather like Arnie talking like Tiny Tim.

the cutest alpinist ever. I want to do fanart of them.
Also, why is it news when a machine can do something a human can't?
Someone else posted this response that summed it up better than I can:
"In other news, a Boeing 777 flew from LA to NYC in 5 hours. The human competitor is still near the California/Nevada border"
Oh, man! I forgot about the Rescue one! Had that, too! Not trying to be part of International Rescue at all🙄

I want the names. Of every man who visited the online 'rape academy'. I want their next of kin. I want their place of work. I want their headshots on every billboard. I want them in the town square. Right where we can see them. I want them fearful. I want them second guessing every woman they know. I want them looking over their shoulders. Harried. Hurried. Nervous and afraid. I want their palms sweaty. Their breathing shallow. I want them to taste the fear that we have lived with all our lives. I want them to wonder if their next step will be their last. Then I'll gently tell them that it's not all women and we'll see if that appeases them. If they sleep easier. If they can relax. Knowing that not all women want to drag a knife across their throat for what they've done. Only some ~salmaelwardany
Made @krichland.bsky.social breakfast because I was inspired by a line in this song where the singer eats "sparkling, glittering toast"
I immediately thought of cinnamon toast. I broiled it and, while it came out neither sparkling nor glittering, it did come out delicious

Cream-colored garment with embroidered black and blue stylized flying bats arranged in right-left symmetry from the base of the collar to the hem. Mounted on display at museum exhibit. Photographed in 2019 at The Life of Animals in Japanese Art exhibition at the National Gallery of Art DC. “In the West, bats - nocturnal in habit and denizens of dark places tend to be viewed as unlucky, but in China they have long been considered an auspicious motif (one of the characters used to write the word "bat" is a homonym for good fortune). The Kabuki actor Ichikawa Danjüro VII (1791-1859) used bat motifs in his costumes, and the perception of these animals as a chic design element spread rapidly throughout Japan in the nineteenth century. Here a great number of them are arranged in right-left symmetry from the base of the collar to the hem.” The above info is from the official exhibition catalog - the bat kosode is on p.124!

A 2018 Fiji Jari with full mechanical GRX waiting for the first ride of the season after having her trainer tires swapped for gravel tires.
First #gravelgrind of the season. Just a super-short (5mi) shakedown (mostly shortened because i forgot my water bottles on my front porch). Riding the rollers all winter actually helped and was not as beat as usual from a First Ride.

An orange cat names Ghostkitty Clementine Ginger-Cream laying on a black and white quilt with a contented look on her little face
Oh, do I love this little thing.
Lay down for a minute after my first gravel ride of the season and she was in my lap in less than 10 seconds. She loves napping with me and I love her napping with me.
Hope you've got something like this to nap with.
they're like a little puzzle!! !! !
Except for the abysmal soundtrack and the made-for-tv transformation effects, this film is still GOLD!
Wish someone would do a fan soundtrack re-edit, though.
