Playing around with light direction and how you can use light to affect how you see the character both literally and emotionally!
Kept to a neutral expression and high contrast (minor key) values to keep let the values themselves tell all of the story!

a commission i got from @rishiyote.bsky.social for me and my wife's 4 year wedding anniversary.... chill couch times with your animal <3
It's still so crazy that in 2024 a huge chunk of bsky's userbase hit a peak of "we're ready to pay subscriptions for bigger features and support the platform, just tell us when it drops 🫡" and then within six months the Bsky team gleefully cut through all that good will with surgical precision
also I think I found the magic bios toggle that fixed my recurring problem for reals this time. I'm preeeeetty sure it was disabling the iGPU, seems like my PC was trying to offload heavy render games to it and causing everything to cascade into sub-20 fps lows. happy day for me
glad to know that mh wilds and dragon's dogma 2 were mostly products of extenuating circumstances. I was worried for a minute there that capcom had fallen off their A-game
pragmata is real, real good. tight, crunchy combat with a cool "3D printers gone awry" environment art direction and very cute dad moments. swinging for one of my favorites of the year thus far
Promotional image for this DJ set. I'm seen on the right, wearing my shirt with all the eevees on it and adjusting my glasses mid-set. Text reads: Alterhuman Pride in the Park Hamilton, 2026
Guess what folks! my DJ set from this weekend is NOW AVAILABLE TO LISTEN TO: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtkF...

it's kind of like if someone was bragging about their new hyper-optimized gym routine right before struggling to pick up a fountain pen

anyone who gives a shit about a high-profile indie getting a couple lukewarm reviews is the sort of person who barely pays attention to the indie scene while mindlessly posting "indies are the future, fuck AAA" rhetoric
Not all kobolds are built quite the same.

still one of the most raw and devastating sequences in any video game imo
idk its something about the text formatting and cadence, its sooo fanfic-y in the best possible way
Idk what came over me when I drew this last night
If I was a French Bread fighting game character this would be my Forward C command normal
(I want more focus on mega-condensed versions of existing games. imagine a version of TES oblivion where playthroughs are like 3-4 hours so you get to try out all the weird builds you want without it being a 100 hour commitment)
I learned recently that it’s an insult in Germany to call someone “hobbyless” or to engage in “hobbyless behavior” and it’s become my favorite way to think of assholes who have nothing better to do than to make other people miserable. Get a hobby. Build a model train and calm down.
I don't blame anyone for being tired of this subgenre because it *is* way too common. I love these sorts of games when they feel considerately designed, but many adopt the format more because it's trendy/familiar rather than recognizing the possibility space of the framework
nightreign's intensely concentrated session-based design actually works better than the base game when it comes to encouraging trying out a variety of builds and being less miserly with your consumable item usage. it's like a half-minute hero version of the main game
I do generally prefer a creative work to be wholly authored, and to not overstay its welcome by having me repeat things far past the point where they're still interesting. but that doesn't automatically mean that I think those are more mechanically engaging types of games by default
the convo that pops up sometimes about roguelites juicing additional playtime in an 'artificial' way falls into some weird assumptions about game design. is a mario game artificially extending its run through reconfiguring the same building blocks into different configurations?
P1: “Thanks for letting me share your edibles” - Hey you’re always welcome to join for ANIMAL TIME” P2: “Whoa I’m starting to feel it” P3: “why do you call it animal time anyw-“ P4: a rat and a lioness sit on the couch”
considering this formed out of wholly manufactured discourse around a capcom game where a little android girl psychic blasts robots while her dad figure gives her a high-five, I'm very much inclined towards the latter explanation. they have no life anymore outside of hating all art unilaterally
saw that one tim pool crony lady's post about how dads who find children cute are secret predators. do these people have a vision of societal idealism in their heads or are they just engaging in culture-jacking because they like being the joker
