The gentleman is either absolutely barking, or has a really good point that I’ve failed to understand.
Let’s celebrate anything that isn’t blatant abuse.
A low bar…

A favourite producer.
Thinking of investing for the label alone!!!
When I say investing. Obviously, in the fullness of time, I’m drinking the lot.

Got it in the 6th go….. at least Connections wasn’t too taxing today.

ā€œA lot less than I was hoping for; for €2ā€ā€¦
If I spend €2 in a bottle of wine, I have hope in much that same way as I would have hope when investing €2 on a lottery ticket.
That doesn’t mean that the occasional gamble on a €2 lucky dip bottle isn’t fun 😁.

In praise of £30 Claret. Drinking perfectly with the Easter roast!
I’ve only ever tried this along side its bigger sibling, so has been rather overshadowed.
I’d be less keen at Ā£45, but at Ā£30, happy days.

Agreed. Cornwall is covered with the stuff! Dog & Blue Bells for scale.
Garlic pesto and smashed garlic minty peas enjoyed today.

Haven’t tried the Arpepe, but love mountain Nebbiolo. Valtellina is a bit off the beaten track for the wine travellers, so seems to flies under the radar in the Uk.
I’m a particular fan of the Sfortazo which is basically Amarone made from Nebbiolo!

Petit Verdot from Chile anyone?
No? This one was news to me.
ā€œLike sucking on a Sloe Berry (bitter and a bit leafy)ā€ was my 17 yo offspring’s opinion. ā€œfruit, but bitter AsF was no 1 daughter’s take on things.
For £12 I was very happy.

I can get my head around ā€œlitheā€ but struggle with exotic fruits that nobody has heard of, let alone actually eaten.
If it has to be one word ā€œEvocativeā€ would be my word. Way too subjective.

Was that about Iddo Netanyahu (brother)?
Or, is this new?

Agreed. A cracking line up!
Some really exciting wines. Some new producers for me too.

An an ex wine retailer, I like a nicely ā€œfaced upā€ display, but deep down I can really vibe with this French merchant’s approach to displaying his products….
PS. His only concession to the non French wine word were several excellent bottles of Port. #WinešŸ·šŸ·

The dog insisted that we swing by the local pub for a snack after her walk…. A couple of pint later and I’m chucking risotto together for the kids with a passable Ā£20 supermarket Barolo!
Have got the day off tomorrow too😁

Well, you couldn’t be doing that pre mod morning breach!!!
Impromptu is always best..

Rioja is definitely on a roll! Plenty of variation. Ever increasing innovation.
Am looking forward to spending Monday with about 40 producers in London (thank you Mr Atkin).

Will give it a go next time I’m in town!

Come one then!
I’ve just spent two hours in a ā€œcraft beer pubā€.
Am gagging for a decent pint of Vitamin G.
Where is the best pint in London?

Good pub? Recommend?
Obviously, the company was first rate.
I’ve given up being horrified by the price of beer in the Metropolis. Ā£17.90 for two pints of Bermondsey brewed loveliness in The Bear about 20mins ago!!!

More glitter is rarely a bad thing…

Interesting, but even in good order, it isn’t exactly a ā€œmass appealā€ piece….. good luck to them though.
Hungerford antique shops are the best.

Pitty them Johnny.
Some belittle, some celebrate.
Rise above the sneering bitter brigade!
We have a full day of Curling, Snow Boarding and Ice Hockey to look forward to tomorrow. I’m a bit hazy on the rules of all three tbh, but we won’t let ignorance get in the way of a good time.

Nothing worse than a wine that tries too hard ā˜¹ļø.
Spotted the post earlier and was wondering if I’d missed something! All makes sense now (other than the wine).

I’m in Bristol from time to time for work will give The Old Duke a try.
Love a good pub!

In Barolo terms, it is entry level.
Needs a bit of time then it is an enjoyable drop.
Concentration and complexity comes at a much higher price.
Always open to a better value recommendation though.

By way of an update. After a couple of hours open, this was seriously good wine. Plenty going on. Concentrated, but not too overpowering.
Have got a case incoming along with 6 of its big brother and 6 of their regular Nebbiolo (both untastedšŸ¤žšŸ¤ž). These should provide good drinking for a few years.

A splendid read!
Wish there was a half way house between Freeloader and Locked In Subscriber.
I’d happily stump up the price of a pint after enjoying an article, but am far less willing to leave my card behind the bar in perpetuity.

First visit to a Vagabond since Majestic jumped in. Monday night in Birmingham and busy. 100 wines on self service. Tapasy food not dreadful.
The rent on this place must be crippling, but hope that they are here to stay.
Off to the Shakespeare now for a proper pint!

Some very canny shopping there!
My local Co-op sells the CVNE Res 2019 for about £23. Absolute bargain.
Have never tried the M&S sherry, but will certainly give them a go at those prices.

Yes. Any thoughts on rough prices?
Cracking branding.
Might even grow a beard!
The dog will also be pleased.
Good luck.
