very few people understand that "bourgeois" and "proletariat" are terms referring to one's *relationship to their labor* rather than how wealthy they are. most lawyers and actors in this country are "proletarian" and most people who own construction companies or plumbing businesses are "bourgeois"

Why @why.bsky.team •5mo Entering day four of "no phone because it broke and I can't get to an apple store", AMA • 27 128 Why @why.bsky.team •5mo I left it outside in the sun and when i went to pick it up, it was saying "temperature too high! let phone cool down before using again", and then within a few hours it was gone 0 6 • 28 Why + Follow @why.bsky.team Okay, so full transparency. I did dip it in a pool after it said it was too hot. I was told not to do that before doing so, but my hubris said "nah these things are waterproof" and into the swim it went. I go in the pool when I want to cool down, why can't my phone? 8:56 PM • Sep 27, 2025 26 likes 1 save 26

This is how getting published for genre fiction works now too
This is the endless cycle and it's correct.
You ever try to code switch at work and fail? 😂
Or no trials

fuck sam altman forever for taking away the last places where we could engage in good faith: the creative arts, which should be a testament to human ingenuity. i am so mad that everything i read or listen to or admire is now tainted with doubt. do you understand? he is a thief of joy and i HATE HIM

i think it is actually totally fine if urban areas with their higher density populations and higher levels of education have a proportionally greater say in national politics than less-dense and less-educated rural areas
Example: someone comes to TikTok with a video of a neighbor in her building having loud sex with lots of screaming, etc, and the poster is angry about it. But every comment is just happy for the person and wishing them the best sex, etc.
I’m posting this while laying on my floor in the dark so yeah I gotta agree with you
My favorite thing on TikTok is when someone posts a video trying to shame someone, but all the comments rally against the person posting the video. It’s beautiful.
I’m definitely emotionally cooked. Is it possible for a. Entire country to have PTSD?
The implicit media consensus is that urban voters should not be able to overrule rural voters, but that rural voters should be able to overrule urban voters, an assumption so axiomatic and unquestionable that nobody even understands they're making it.
thinking abt this bc there is currently a controversy on tiktok where people are misreading and spreading a statistic from this article, saying that 62 million men were either in or interested in a telegram chat about drugging and raping their female partners when really it was like 1000 people max
Image: a screenshot of an Instagram post from GQ about men wearing glasses under which Instagram is asking whether or not I’m interested.
Am I INTERESTED? In men wearing SLUTTY LITTLE READING GLASSES? What do YOU THINK Instagram!
There is always some ai fan who pops up in threads discussing the problems with the technology who speaks like they’ve never actually spoken to a human before. Whole lot of Skeletor-posting out here in the streets.
we all know I have no life, so:
Who are the 3rd and 11th guys here?
Mass death, couched in grifter language
*trying to fit in with british people* hey what are you all talking about... no, let me guess. the punters, right
Media needs to stop with "critics say" and just quote the actual language of the bill.
HB 249 creates a new category of "seminudity" which can be used to arrest women who aren't nude, but are wearing clothing — leggings, t-shirts without bras — that religious groups feel is too provocative.
Making Tucci into John Wick is hilarious. Every flop of a first season should by law be retooled with Tucci and Matt Berry starring in season 2.
Anecdotally, the biggest cokeheads I’ve heard of have all been millennial chefs at upscale restaurants.
