this looks super useful! congrats :)

All you ever wanted to know about how to analyse the nematic nature of cellular tissues is right here πππΌ!
Bonus #1: we did it for many cell types and uncovered unexpected defect behavior π
Bonus #2: for theoreticians looking for parameter values for your simulationπ§πΌβπ»

What if you got to work with some of your best friends on a science project? I can't publish how fun this was, but I can show you the data (π§΅)! Last week, we posted our second neutrophil swarming paper to bioRxiv and I wanted to post my favorite videos here~

There's an update of #EZreverse, it is much quicker and supports drag-and-drop

Just published in @science.org π
By controlling how cells align, we show that living nematic tissues can be programmed to generate forces and fold into predictable 3D shapes.
A new platform for tissue engineering and the design of smart active materials! π«

napari 0.7.0 is available now! ππ
It's a BIG release so read the full release notes, with highlights: https://napari.org/stable/release/release_0_7_0.html
We want to thank everyone who has worked incredibly hard on this release including our 11 new brilliant [β¦]

Briefly, after organ injury, 100 milliseconds, we detected collective changes in membrane potential at the tissue level. This is so far the earliest detected wound-response!! This electric signal sparks the formation of a tissue-wide calcium waveπ
So cool! Congrats! π
PAPER OUT β¨ How can we make smart microscopy more interoperable? What are the technical and cultural challenges? 30+ people from academia and industry propose a roadmap: doi.org/10.1515/mim-... Not something you see in textbooks very often: tripolar mitosis.
Hello epithelial mechanics fans!! Iβm Juanma @juanmagararc.bsky.social π I work on cell mechanics (see celldynamicslab.com) and use Flipper-TR FLIM to probe membrane biophysics in cells.
Join me on this tour about Flipper: what it measures, strengths, advice, cool case studies, and cute drawings!
ow noooo I missed it! :'(
will it be made available somewhere online? :)
Cow Tools!
We have lived alongside cows for nearly 10,000 years.
We breed them and exploit them
It is now, only now, that we have discovered THEY CAN USE TOOLS
Here I describe our study

Congrats this is really cool!!!
We just released a new major version of TrackMate (v8), the cell and organelle tracking plugin of Fiji.
It ships many new features, detailed below, but that are articulated around the following:
Thank you Mathieu :))
Hot out of press!!!
Studying chloroplast organisation from the perspective of packing problems in confinement.
chloroplasts show multiple configurations for different purposes (optimal light uptake in dim light vs. light avoidance in strong light for photo protection)πΏ

This is so cool! Congrats! :)
Definitely something to try out!
Just won the best poster award for our new work on Chloroplast Packing at the Dutch Biophysics meeting (NWO, BioPM). It was a great collab with Eric Weeks and @mazi1.bsky.social
The Paper is also accepted now, so double good news :)
Stay tuned!!
Of course!!! :)

it was already fun to look around the documentation for cmap (cmap-docs.readthedocs.io)
but @grosoane.bsky.social just added a very cool feature to toggle between color vision deficiencies. Watch your perceptually uniform color maps gain some kinks π
as a mild deutan myself, I appreciate it! π
