A couple of you have asked what length an SF novel should be. Here are SFWA's guidelines for the Nebula Awards:
1. Novel: Over 40,000 words
2. Novella: 17,500 - 40,000 words
3. Novelette: 7,500 - 17,500 words
4. Short story: Under 7,500 words
Hope that helps.
first book that made me cry was Jacqueline Wilson’s “Opal Plumstead” 😢
Because tedious tasks are my therapy right now: are you a short fiction writer (flash or short stories only, please) publishing in litmags or aspiring to? I'd like to make a starter pack of short story and flash people! Comment here and please share for visibility #writingcommunity

Ocean Voung’s “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous”!! (also some Synge poetry perhaps)
Some people call it a messy desk. I call it a three dimensional to-do list.
Do any of you also read four books simultaneously or do you have your life in order

Wrote something I really like this morning. God, what a feeling.
A book open, held on one hand in front of a blurred bookcase full of books
I love a floppy book. The pages stay where they are, no spines get cracked and it sits comfortably in your hand.
There, that’s my great insight shared for this week.
As you were.
PSA ... we've upgraded the security system in the home library ...
Please, if you are able, support Independent bookshops.
They are the literary & social hubs of our high streets and communities.
Without their continued support, we simply wouldn't be around to publish .
Thank you.
