Since the kindle self publishing program is the absolute best way for many of them to make any kind of money. I don't fault them for that at all.

I certainly have zero intention of getting back into the kindle ecosystem, but, as many indie authors are only available through Amazon, as ebooks, this means I can still support at least some of them (those who choose to enable epub download). Amazon sucks but those authors are in a hard place.

Apparently, some time in January, Amazon enabled authors to provide drm free epub downloads of their books, if they choose to. This is a huge win! I've been salty that books intended to be drm free were only available with drm from Amazon and it motivated my move to Kobo.

I am gradually starting to make art I'm not embarrassed by which is cool actually. A very messy doodle from downtime at work today. So much still to learn but it actually feels... Possible? And fun? I gave up on art for 20 years because I got no joy from it & had no support so that's a big thing.

After some troubleshooting I’ve made an alternative version of this layer set where they’re grouped by colour rather than by tone density to make them easier to edit or isolate colours for printing. Also threw in a bunch of bonus tone textures

I honestly love csp and $10/yr is worth it for me.

If you want to buy 5.0 and not update at all for at least 3 years, the perpetual is cheaper... This time. Next upgrade you'll have to buy a new license, as you'll be too many versions behind for the discounted pricing. So you'll be at ~$90 for four years of updates vs $40, with no bug fixes between

The $30 is the upgrade price. A new license (which, if you have a version older than 3.0, you have to buy) is $60. But celsys has been releasing major versions every year.

To clarify, any pro license, ex pricing is higher but still works out cheaper. The update pass is not the same thing as the monthly plan.

The upgrades are ~30/yr. The update pass for anyone who owns any perpetual license is $10/yr, and if you let it lapse, you just roll back to your perpetual version. Perpetual licenses also don't grant incremental updates ie 5.1 etc. You only get 5.0
