The ESA has ~ +60% popularity, with even a large majority of support of republicans. Those are numbers that could scare vulnerable house republicans if they get enough phone calls that it becomes clear that people have noticed this vote doi.org/10.1111/conl...

I am again asking people to pay attention to what has happened to our National Science Foundation and by extension thousands of researchers across the country.

The devastation is ongoing and worthy of continued outcry to officials and journalists. 🧪

Yeah, so you just don’t have any idea what’s going on

That seems irrelevant? I don’t think you know how things work

This is such a funny criticism. Harris was on the WFP line because they endorsed her. Previous candidates they’ve endorsed include both Schumer and Andrew Cuomo.

Manchin may have been above replacement for WV, but his repeated sabotaging of Democratic policies reduced trust in the party across the country, and probably cost us House seats. MGP's habit of catering to her constituency's worst impulses in the most public way possible is bad for the same reason.

The seals and sea lions are able to eat so many salmon because Bonneville Dam significantly slows their migration upstream. This is a problem we created, killing the seals and sea lions won’t make food cheaper, and Marie doesn’t care about salmon.

One of the former pastors of the protestant church I went to as a kid – who is now a bishop and studiously avoids talking about politics in his capacity as clergy – just posted “Trump is a false prophet who must be condemned” on facebook. So I don’t think this line is gonna fly

How do they parse birds from storms in the radar signals? Do they target different altitude ranges somehow?

Senior professors - if you want to help your junior colleagues in these times, I am begging you, review our papers. I have done 25 manuscript reviews in the last 6 years. But my own manuscript is stalled out waiting for reviewers. Relatedly, I won't be doing any more reviews until tenure. 🧪

At a glance, 2599 recipients - I think the highest total ever? And quite a few in the Life Sciences, which I know was a concern for many - Evolutionary Biology had twice as many recipients (38) as last year (19).

lol uncommitted did not make Harris lose.

1 week ago 0 0 1 0

Anyway, you’ve succeeded in significantly derailing this conversation, which was about internal party criticism. It’s fine and even healthy, and centrist opposition to it is hypocritical.

Have a good one

And Schumer still hasn’t said he voted for Mamdani because we all know he voted for Cuomo.

The uncommitted movement wasn’t “campaigning against her” to make her lose (she had no serious competitors), it was trying to influence her policy positions.

1 week ago 0 0 2 0

Yeah, you are just being deliberately obtuse about what the purpose of the uncommitted movement was, and this whole conversation generally so we’re done here.

1 week ago 1 0 0 0

All I’m finding is an opinion article in the hill deliberately conflating the “uncommitted movement” *during the primaries* with opposition in the general election. He voted for her in the general.

Show me where Mamdani campaigned against the democratic nominee.

1 week ago 0 0 1 0

This makes no sense, since Harris endorsed Mamdani. You also still haven’t shown that he refused to endorse her

1 week ago 0 0 1 0

I brought up Schumer because he opposed his own party’s nominee. *we* weren’t talking about anything, because you just jumped in to derail the conversation
