Ugh so sorry. On the other hand we live in the world where implants are a thing so dentures are not necessary for now. Thank god.

Only if you want to be. I notice that here people have liked and re-posted but no one is actually answering or engaging. Much much more action over on actual Mastodon.

I’m excited about #FinishorFrogAlong because I have found an amazing crafting community on Mastodon, and I love supporting each other to get projects over the finish line. I primarily spin and knit. I have a few projects teed up but my focus this year is more on connecting with community.

What will the end of the 'de minimis' rule mean for U.S. consumers? On Friday, the U.S. is ending its de minimis rule that made it easy for cheap goods to reach consumers. The change will affect roughly 4 million such packages processed each day.

You can do non-knit projects for #FinishOrFrogAlong - lots of people do other fiberarts or even non-fiberarts. It started as a knitting / crochet thing originally but expanded.

Heg #knitsky - the past few years I’ve been hosting a Fediverse craftalong - the #FinishOrFrogAlong - in Sept. The goal is to support each other getting WIPs over the finish line or deciding it’s just never going to happen. Taking temp on bluesky to gauge interest. Anyone up for it? #knitting

I got my first part of Birkenstocks EVER. These are oiled leather tobacco brown Arizonas with the soft footbed. Your comments on breaking them in, wearing them with (handknit) socks, and any other hints you have for being a Birkenstocks wearer are welcome and encouraged. #birkenstocks #shoes

Finished @sarahbethdurst.bsky.social ‘s Enchanted Greenhouse in a binge and am now listening to the audiobook to catch all the details I missed as I rushed through to find out what was going to happen. Recommended if you like smart women, nice men, magic, and sentient plants. And Spellshop #booksky

So pretty

I totally have to pause and read these out to my viewing companions (my partner and occasionally also my parents if they are watching with us)

I want to - I need a place where I can have this project sitting safely with each of the balls of yarn set up for each strip carefully. Not the at my current WIPs are randomly strewn around completely disorganized lol

Awesome; good to know. I have so many unused mini-sets lol.

Did you also hold it double with a mohair silk, or just used the mini set alone?

Instead of buying fireworks, buy cat food to donate to a local shelter. You’ll feel much better afterwards and you won’t have scared any animals!

Oh my god you made this! I have this on my list but am not ready to face the complexity of all the different balls of yarn, nor make the commitment to set up this project in one spot which would make managing the complexity feasible. Your example is gorgeous!

This is stop motion with wool -- the team wrote that it "spent a year developing this film, walking with the flocks and the shepherds"

I love that you have actual chickens to model these after

Interesting. I might have to give Sense and Sensibility another try. I always found it less compelling than Pride and Prejudice. OTOH I find the P&P movie only so so compared to the miniseries(es)

Audible recommended this book to me and I assumed it was a parody of current events. Then I realized it was published in 2019. @scalzi.com #books #booksky

I’m going to Paris for about a week at the end of June / early July. I’ve been to a lot of the main touristy things in the past. What should I do this time? Especially anything with textiles / spinning / knitting / fiberarts or food (any price as long as it’s tasty). #travel #food #FiberArts #paris

I would recommend looking at @elfkin.bsky.social (I have no idea what your price range is but this clothing is terrific, albeit custom and not inexpensive)

Ha ha! I am still really early in spinning but i also sense I will be giving a lot of my handspun away.

Here she is, my @daedalusspinners.bsky.social Starling! It took me a bit to figure out some things like how to thread the leader properly, how to fix alignment issues, and how to get the tension band working, but now, smooth and quiet as butter. It’s love! #handspinning (fiber: shaniko from YarnJam)
