Welcome Guide - Beadnell Ward Mother and Baby Unit - Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust Useful information about your stay on Beadnell Ward. It will tell you about the ward, staff and treatments and therapies that are available to you.

Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Trust @cntw.bsky.social have you installed Oxevision on the mother and baby unit? The new ward leaflet has added information about Oxevision as well as body worn cameras. This is unspeakably unethical.

The timeline also outlines Oxford Health's bold claims to have 'come up with the idea' of Oxevision and the value of the @nihr.bsky.social Oxford Health BRC in making the research happen

We have published part two of the timeline of Oxford Health's installation of Oxevision. This part considers the origins of Oxevision, the initial Oxevision pilot study and the connections between Oxehealth and it's founder (Lionel Tarassenko) with the NIHR Oxford Health BRC

And at the huge expense of the rights, safety and dignity of disabled/mentally ill people 💔💔

Untangling the threads: The installation of Oxevision by Oxford Health NHS Trust part two

Following on from the piece earlier in the week we are now sharing part two of our deep dive into Oxford Health’s seemingly irrational decision to install Oxevision

The Oxford Health camhs ward I was on (that now uses Oxevision) had an ongoing ant infection issue, the showers (no en suites) didn't work so I'd have to try to wash under a bath tap (no bath plug for an actual bath). Loads of issues. I wonder if they fixed those before spending millions 💔

The early insights report is here, there's a stark difference between what Oxehealth / LIO present about their creepy tech and what patients experience stopoxevision.wordpress.com/wp-content/u...

All of this is heartbreaking but the feedback from patients, including those on a children's ward is harrowing.

“its creepy when I look up and see its red eyes looking at me. It feels like a monster is looking at me in the night”.

Following an article by @novaramedia.com we have now shared part one of the timeline of Oxford Health's installation of Oxevision.

The report outlines how the Trust invested millions in a technology its patients described as 'creepy', 'unsafe' and 'spying'

2 months ago 13 13 1 1

“The report also stated that the company was asking “leading” questions about their technology on survey forms, “presumably to improve survey scores”. It added: “Successful business relationships are built on trust, and this was not evident in the company’s responses and approach””

Levy Review of adult gender dysphoria clinics:
key points
Some things are better, some a bit worse, most stay the same and there are some grey areas. It's okay.
They acknowledged the system is broken, but aren't replacing gatekeeping with informed consent (our key ask).
There are recommendations, but how they're implemented is going to be what really matters.

What we don't know yet:
How trans people will be supported who are currently DIYing hormones, on bridging prescriptions with GPs prescribing after initial NHS endocrinologist support or with shared care agreements between their GPs and private clinics while they wait to see a gender clinic.
Everything in the report relates to those solely on the
NHS gender clinic pathway.
We don't want gaps in provision or GPs panicking and saying they can no longer support these patients (which include me, on bridging).
We also don't know exactly how the government and
NHS will respond to and implement the recommendations after their initial statements.

What should we do now?
• Write to your MP with your concerns about both this and the EHRC guidance (see advice from TransActual and Trans Solidarity
Alliance). MPS are on parliamentary recess for Christmas, but they're not on holiday the whole time until they return to Parliament.
• Share anything you receive from your healthcare professionals (if you're trans) with TransActual so the response of GPs and private clinics to the review can be monitored and we can campaign effectively.

I made an Instagram post about the Levy recommendations. It’s long, so I’ve only put a few slides on here. As always, there are organisations better placed than me to respond @transactualuk.bsky.social @transsolidarity.bsky.social @goodlawproject.bsky.social www.instagram.com/p/DSchXjZDPe...

Freedom from violence and abuse: a cross-government strategy This strategy sets out the government’s vision and actions for meeting its ambition to halve violence against women and girls in a decade.

There is hope in the government’s new VAWG strategy, but promises alone won’t deliver change.

Urgent action, survivor-led change, and better funding for organisations tackling violence against women and girls are needed now. Survivors can’t wait.

My favourite thing about this post is a for-profit company likening their surveillance tech to the invention of stethoscopes or safety equipment in Formula 1 cars. "Over time, the radical becomes reasonable", they say. 1/2

The article is clear and irrefutable evidence of their impending demise, the entire thing is pretty unhinged and definitely written by AI. Really scraping the barrel of 'evidence'

Brenda Campbell KC also raised concerns that LIO (Oxehealth) have published on their social media a post which references the Lampard Inquiry evidence as promotional marketing material

The calls for the Lampard Inquiry to issue interim recommendations calling EPUT to stop using Oxevision have been supported by Hodge Jones & Allen on behalf of their clients, Bhatt Murphy for their bereaved/lived experience clients and separately Bhatt Murphy for INQUEST

Northampton hospital staff 'caught on CCTV assaulting patients' The CQC expresses "extreme concern" over abuse allegations at a Northampton mental health hospital.

The abuse of mental health patients has been standard practice in psychiatric settings for decades now. It will only stop when someone in a position to do something about it takes it seriously & considers all patients in whatever settings as worthy of care & compassion
