I am the subway by Kim Hyo-eun
After reading one too many picture books about cars, trucks and road widening projects, I started making my own transit indoctrination books for my toddler. But I've also been on the lookout for other picture books that elevate buses and subways.
My favorite? I Am the Subway by Kim Hyo-eun.
Watching the movie Idiocracy because I went to a Friendsgiving thing and it was all they could talk about.
Happy heavenly birthday, dear Mike. You are missed, brotha 💜✊🏾🙏🏾
Oh gawd, thought we’d left this sort of uncritical, blindly militant thinking on that other app.
I’m not seeing any movement yet. Unless I’m missing something. I can’t imagine trying to maintain a grasp on SA current Affairs without X. Maybe TikTok but I’m not there in any significant way.
Leaving that other app is attractive but it’s not practical. South African X is a kind of connection to home. To gossip. And news. And something of a national mood.
You know I’m here for the class analysis RE African immigrants. There’s so much there.
Weren’t we in this conversation the other day?@thedoctorlane.bsky.social
