Is it supposed to be a metaphor or perhaps some idea that never fully came into fruition in No More Heroes 2? Suda 51: "Fake Travis" appeared as an assassin in 1.5 He wasn't actually Travis' doppelganger; he was a second-rate assassin that showed up copying Travis. In the world of 1.5, he got decapitated and the matter was sorted.

One of the few (if not only) times Suda has been asked about NMH 1.5 to my knowledge: In October 2022, Marvelous Europe interviewed Suda 51 with questions taken from Twitter users, and @lovesecretdesire.bsky.social asked about the Travis copycat that briefly appears at the end of the comic.

NMH 1.5 is the one piece of the series that still confounds me. Despite being an interquel between the first two games, it doesn't quite gel with NMH2 in tone/continuity, and it doesn't do much to recontextualize it, either.
