Today's poem
The United States, February 15, 2026
Cut tulip. Alive. Flared wide.
Poem for today
Wish
A thousand things times
naught. I want
that. An empty.
The glint
from a fork
eclipsed
in the wet
of a mouth. The ash
flake
having once. I ask
the trace
of a sea
gone extinct. Subtract.
The path
of a fin
from that past. A breath
next to last.
Nothing.
Less.

Here's an action you can quickly sign onto, and it matters. Los Alamos National Laboratory has started producing plutonium cores for nuclear weapons for the first time since the Cold War. Their proposal for expanding fails to meet basic legal requirements. actionnetwork.org/letters/publ...
The Trump administration is deleting resources and denying the reality that toxic air pollution makes some communities sicker than others.
It is a time for poems. For unsettling every word.
