Oh no. I’m so very sorry. Had to say goodbye to my elderly cat two weeks ago, and the silence of my house is astounding. May your memories and your other doggos be a comfort. (Tequila too, whatever works, ma’am.)

I see Dennis Hopper and am really feeling my age.
One thing about Kash Patel eventually being fired is there’s no way to imagine what his face will look like upon hearing the news.
The fact that Mamdani just seems like a cheerful normal guy who's policies are things like "we're going to tax second homes to fund pothole repairs" or whatever and yet this generates panicked responses like "This is basically Stalin's great purge turned up to eleven" is... telling. It tells things.
When I was in 4th grade, a team of professional (?) yo-yo…ists came to a school assembly and did yo-yo tricks for 30 minutes. The subsequent 24 hours went EXACTLY like this, with the added distinction that most kids had a black eye or a big goose egg by week’s end from attempting stunts. 😂
I’ll never not see Charles Durning making his little “get outta the way” gestures as he plummets. ❤️

Oh, sweet pretty Sadie. I wish you comfort as you walk this path with her, too.
So lovely, especially for a lifelong book nerd like me. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Oh my! Iris has broken containment on the 🌈 on-ramp, it seems. #CatSky, you are SO kind, and I am so moved by your condolences and stories; I can’t keep up, but know that I am touched beyond words. Give all your babies love from me. The 🐈 distribution system will find me again when I’m ready. 🩷
I met with one of my constituents who bravely served in Afghanistan, and he did me the incredible honor of presenting me with his ribbon rack.
He and the people he served with have seen forever wars their entire lives. It is time for these needless, thoughtless wars to end.
Thank you, Charlie! I’d almost forgotten how both my cats were total hams for video meetings during the worst of the pandemic. I’m glad you reminded me, and remember her. ❤️
God yes. I just had to set my elderly mom up with a streaming subscription for her beloved Mariners, and the amount of tech support I’ve provided in just 2 weeks has already exceeded the time I spent on the phone with Xfinity pre-season. (Not that Xfinity was any help, heaven forbid.)
Oh, thank you, Philip— this means so much. Give my love to Rollie. (As a kitten, Iris had a similar crazy origin story to Rollie; she hid inside an old couch and was carried out to the movers’ truck before I ran outside in a panic to find one guy carrying her back. He laughed, I didn’t. 😱❤️)
Iris, a chonky classic tabby with huge, gorgeous green eyes, looks up at the camera from her perch in a pink, fuzzy cat bed.
I had to say goodbye to this beautiful, brave girl yesterday, after just shy of 16 years. Sweet baby Iris, I’m so glad to have shared your little life, and honored to have sent you off to your next adventure with a mouthful of cream cheese, your favorite, for the road. Love you forever.
Website for Philly Paws. Top banner says: OUR GRAYS FERRY LOCATION IS CLOSED TODAY (THURSDAY, APRIL 9). WE APPRECIATE YOUR UNDERSTANDING AND APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE. Main page says: Grays Ferry update: safe evacuation and temporary closure. In light of the tragic construction collapse next door to PAWS' Grays Ferry shelter/clinic, all animals have been safely evacuated from the building and our Grays Ferry Spay/Neuter & Wellness Clinic is closed today, Thursday, April 9, and will remain closed until the area Is deemed safe. You can help by adopting a cat from PAWS' Old City location, which is now full to capacity with evacuated cats, or by signing up to foster.
I’m sure you get requests to boost stuff all the time, but @catsofyore.bsky.social a Philly shelter had to suddenly close due to a building collapse. They still need foster homes for the evacuated cats. phillypaws.org
that being said, [long, piercing shriek]
my what an invigorating cocktail of relief, anger and anxiety
Those Artemis II astronauts are missing the opportunity of a lifetime if they aren’t up there blasting Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’!!!
they were saying all kinds of mean stuff about you behind the moon
This took a kind and generous turn I wasn’t expecting, and I needed to read that today. Thank you for reminding me to assume the best of others more often. ❤️
Jeff Bezos has $222 billion.
If he paid my wealth tax this year, we could fund insulin in America for everyone who needs it plus free school lunch for every kid in Texas—and have plenty of money left over.
And Bezos would still have $215 billion dollars to spare.
The biggest story in the world right now is that the president of the United States is a demented old man who takes pleasure in torturing and killing people and is committing crimes with impunity. And yet most legacy media outlets are too cowardly to tell it like it is.
Just now reading this and sending my deepest sympathies and condolences. I’m so sorry for your loss.
girl take us with you
it always turns out trump isn't dead, but if we do this every time he's out of the public eye for an hour, maybe it'll at least bother him
In all sincerity, thank you for explaining this so clearly! The question was nagging at the back of my mind, too, and I’m delighted to have a precise answer…and more thrilled by the occasion because of it.
Both of Marco Rubio’s parents were born in Cuba. Marco Rubio was born in Miami in 1971, before they became US citizens. He is a US citizen because he was born in the US under birthright citizenship. #Hypocrites
This is Pulitzer shit right here.
Cookie Monster is my forever favorite, but the older I get (SeSt and I were born the same year!) the more relatable I find Oscar. Screw your gentrification bs, I just want to be a reclusive crank in my classic style shabby-chic home, admiring all my precious crap. 💚
