I suppose Bluesky works better if you remember to log back in again after switching phones. 🥴😬

Welcome, Kelly! Hope you’re doing well!
Seattle was hit with a rare, heavy windstorm (bomb cyclone?) Tues night. Over half a million homes are without power including us. It was especially strong where we live on the western slope of the Cascades 20 miles east of Seattle.
Estimates say could be many days until power is restored.
Have you found good resources for connecting to photography-related feeds or photographers?
Following this convo and also looking for the same.
Looking to connect with more #edtech #EduSky #AppleADE and #techdirector
What other feeds or starter packs are recommended?
It’s indeed quite stunning and I’m thankful to live only about 20 min from it.
Yet, I have only been 3 times. Need to remedy that. (I’ve only lived here 2 years so partially forgiven).
It’s pretty awesome. I had the iPad Mini 6 256GB and recently upgraded to the 7. If you can find a deal on the 6 it’s quite similar.
My primary iPad is the 13” M4 but the mini is my preference for reading & using around the house. I posted some comparisons to other screens on my feed if that helps
Thanks - appreciate the chance to start fresh but forgot how much time it takes!
Hey Alec - how are you finding folks here? Starter packs? Lists?
Where can I find a good #photographer or #photography related starter pack?
What advantages do you see here vs Threads?
I don’t believe there is a method of connecting other accounts or importing from other services. Just rough starting over from zero.
iPad reviews are focusing on screen brightness, colors, and contrast of the new M4 OLED iPad vs M1/M2 13” mini-LED, or #iPad Mini screens. It’s difficult to gauge based on display models in stores with overhead lighting.
I thought I’d offer a comparison: 13” M4 vs 12.9” M1 vs 10.5” vs iPad Mini 6.
In terms of replicating a network of contacts?
What are preferred options to find contacts from other platforms on Bluesky?
Perhaps the Tamron 70-180 2.8 is worth a look. I use the 70-200GM 1st gen and really enjoy it but it’s heavy and bulky in case that’s a factor.
That’s where primes can shine if you don’t need the flexibility.
Can go used via B&H or MBP. The 25mm zeiss and 85mm zeiss are very sharp and much cheaper than when I bought them. Lightweight and compact.
Or Sony 35 f2 works.
For zooms what are you wanting to capture?
Depends on your budget and what you’re hoping to shoot. There are more cost effective options with excellent quality.
The 70-200 GM is fantastic but it’s a lot to carry at times.
The 35 f1.4 is nearly glued to my Sony A7RV.
Day trip to Snohomish, a quaint town northeast of Seattle. Timeless atmosphere, interesting architecture and great coffee shops.
Figure it’s time to use Bluesky after leaving the account dormant for a year.
Who’s here?
