What I love about the GBA and DS is seeing things rooted in the 2000s/early 2010s depicted with lower end hardware.
You have these tie-in games with graphics comparable to SNES/PS1, and artstyles you normally wouldn't see back in the 90s. Older technology used in very different ways.

Is there a term for a game(and I suppose media in general) where it has a lot of ideas that contribute to it being creative, yet the general vibes and aesthetic is safe and standard?
I feel games like Super Mario 3D World and Sonic Lost World fall into that category, at least creatively.

Kourtney has been trying to rectify that her entire life, chronicling the stories of her people, their history, and their culture in her Kremling Kronology. Now that she's free from the Planet Core, she has a LOT of writing to catch up on - in fact, she seems more interested in writing than actually playing. She's always jotting something down, but don't think that makes her helpless! She may have reformed a Kutlass sword into a pen, but a sword is still a sword, as the Kutter Spin technique will remind anyone in a circular radius around her. With a Super Spike, she can strike the ball with her scroll like a long (and rather educational) whip!
Kourtney has SO MUCH Kremling lore to catch up on since she was freed from the Planet Core that she's writing it all down during her Spikers League matches. Don't think that means she's a bad player though - that pen she's using doubles as a sword!

I don't participate in fandoms, whatever quantifies as such. But I see discourse about how fandom does this, fandom does that - and it feels nebulous? Unspecific?
What bothers me about fandom discourse discussions is it feels like it doesn't reach the heart of the problem, if that makes sense?
I understand fandom can be a detriment to one's enjoyment of a piece of work, and fandom has the capability to do real harm if let unchecked.
At the same time though, the way some talk about fandom always comes across as a little weird to me. I dunno how else to explain it.
There should be more indie games inspired by Shrek on Xbox
A six-panel comic. Flo says, "I'm worried SICK! Do you think they're alright?" Chloe puts on a backpack and replies, "Dunno. You call Mom. I'm gonna look for 'em." Flo is shocked. As Chloe walks off, an off-screen voice announces, "This just in- The monster has been SLAIN!" This catches the two off-guard, and they rush to the TV in utter disbelief. The reporter continues, "The hero is one D.J. 'Soup'!" The TV shows the mayor kneeling down to Soup, who holds a photo in their hand. The photo is revealed to be Soup, standing victorious over a presumably defeated monster, sword in hand, and a ray of light illuminating the brave youth.

The idea of fictional characters reacting to movies of themselves very funny. A scene plays of two best friends having a second-act breakup, and one of them is like "wow, this takes me back."

Our kommunity discussion of DKC2 koncepts provided by Gregg Mayles! While the idea for the game and the Kremlings within it were a lot more focused from the outset than with the original DKC, there were still plenty of fascinating scrapped ideas to analyze!
