Thanks! I had surgery on my foot which requires me to be non-weightbearing for 6 weeks. I figured since it was going to be challenging, it would be more fun to think of it like a challenge ๐ช๐

Day 36 of #NWBchallenge and I can see my own foot! No longer in a cast, though I do have an airboot for the next few weeks and Iโm still not allowed to put any weight on it for one more week

#NWBchallenge day 31 - Iโm cycling! Kinda ๐
Hands up if you have been predicting 2026 as the year of Linux on the desktop ๐

I had been wondering if Iโm missing out having left a while back, but this reassures me that even though some folks on this site can be pretty shrill, itโs a lot better than over there
๐ฉผ๐ฆถ๐ฉผ Four weeks into the #NWBchallenge. Today I tackled the obstacle course that is my office for the first time so I could reach my drum kit! Hi-hat pedal is off limits for the moment ๐ฅ
Up till now we have had embargos on vuln reports that allowed for people to create fixes before they are revealed publicly. I think Glasswing is the next phase of a similar ethos. Also note it's not purely enterprise - @linuxfoundation.org also involved

โBasically, don't trust anything or anyone these days. Entire teams of fake people are being automated on legit-looking Slack instances to persuade you to collaborate with them ๐ฑ

There is a lot of good and seemingly transparent discussion of risk in this Claude Mythos Preview System Card from @anthropic.com www-cdn.anthropic.com/8b8380204f74... Lots of description of how they evaluate threat models, and acknowledgement where their confidence levels are uncertain

Right now my foot feels fizzy & tingly, like pins and needles. ChatGPT says this is nerves healing / waking up, and absolutely normal. AI has been super helpful and reassuring for me through this process ๐ค
That would make some kind of senseโฆ

Looking at a repo that describes the leaked #Claude CLI code and it has taken an unexpected turn: 18 species of "buddy" randomly assigned, with a 1% chance of being "shiny" - I'm beginning to think it's not Claude but Pokรฉmon? github.com/Kuberwastake...
Somehow the @cisco.com Tech Stories team persuaded me to tell the story of how I learned, early in my career, about the importance of backing up your work... and then talk about #eBPF of course

The algorithm is only part of the problem. UX is another part, particularly infinitely scrollable content, encouraging us to keep on and on searching for dopamine hits

I thought maybe I was just getting less good at using computers, but this explains a lot about why I keep finding the UX on Apple things non-intuitive
