Putting "make it so I can watch She-Ra on the big TV" on the top of my pre-surgery to-do list is totally normal behavior. Very hinged. Might just recommend the hospital adds it to their instructions, kinda negligent that they left it off, honestly.

I'm listening to my 11 year old and their friend debate whether a certain word (not sure which one) is allowed at school. 11 says they used it at indoor recess and a teacher said not to say it again and their friend very sincerely answered "but I'm talking about OUTDOOR recess" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I showed 11 my pictures and told them they know I really love them because I left this behind to pick them up and they told me I should have just abandoned them at school πŸ˜‚

They're the old day camp participation trophies our parents insisted we get (then mocked us for getting) that they randomly shoved in our hands when we were leaving their houses one day in our mid 30s. They accidentally made it into our houses and we keep forgetting to throw them away 🀷

I love how my 40s keep surprising me with fun new experiences, like "fucked up my back trying a different style of CPAP mask" 🀦

I'm starting to seriously suspect someone has put a "no currant tomatoes for her garden ever" curse on me and like... how? why???? What flavor of witch do you have to piss off to specifically be forbidden from growing stupidly small tomatoes????? What did I do??????????

My kid thought they were cool and I told them how often they blow up because they're pieces of shit and it was surprisingly effective

Only offering a specific type of medical appointment at 7 fucking am in the goddamn morning should be illegal 😑

I guess it was silly of me to name a kitten Catra and then expected to get cuddles instead of murder attempts but PLEASE, kitten, will you stop trying to eat my foot????

Excuse me, this is clearly a lost My Little Pony, not a Pokemon

I wish more people took that approach. I love a gift that gets them creating shit and that either gets used up or has enough versatility to be worth storing. You wanna come do my kids' baskets? πŸ˜‚

But recognizing that room for growth is SO IMPORTANT, it really is a key step in learning how to manage all the.... everything... There's no point where it's all magically better but it's the people who think they have it all figured out and learned all they need to know who get stuck in place.

It's all stressful as hell and the world being what it is sure doesn't fucking help. It was rough when I was in my 20s but looking back at then compared to now, I don't know how younger folks are managing at all. It's hard to focus on your mental health and growth when you're struggling to survive.

I'm here from your future to tell you that nobody EVER has life figured out, you just get better at managing the existential dread of being a middle aged child when you realize that the smartest, most competent people you know are also fucking disasters.

ESPECIALLY if they're actively and proudly using the attention and money for evil! Maybe you can choose to separate art from artist if they're just a regular asshole with bad opinions, but if they're using MY money to hurt my friends? Fuck 'em. Why would I WANT to give them more money and attention?

Trust is a factor too. I can't imagine a trans person seeing a friend knowingly continue to engage with the HP fandom and not question whether they're safe around that person. You can choose your fandom, but people who are under threat can choose to cut you off out of self-preservation because of it

it’s not hyperbole, JKR literally said support for HP is support for her transphobia

and she uses the money she makes from it to TRY TO TAKE OUR RIGHTS AWAY

if you watch that show please don’t ever speak to me again

trans lives are more important than your fandom of a terrible human’s IP

Yep, I'm gonna stick with my 50 airline website browser tabs so I can book without giving up my autonomy and ability to work directly with the airline if shit goes wrong. It's probably easier to use a single travel site if you're booking on a phone screen, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea.
