People should know how insanely unpopular the current governor is. Last I checked she was the least popular gov in the country (or at least neck and neck with Phil Murphy).
(She was almost directly responsible for my dad's death so I'm not entirely unbiased).
Gov race is entirely winnable.

Patton Oswalt is going to read the third book in the Talisman trilogy. OTHER WORLDS THAN THESE will be out in October. I'm totally stoked that he agreed to do it. Spoiler alert: There's a character in the book who's a stand-up comedian. His name is...Payton Orville.
Coincidence? I think not.
A white garment with some kind of food stain. Humiliating.
A pair of dirty hands rest on a car engine. Rough, tough, cool.
Here is an easy solution:
Food stains are humiliating, as they suggest you're a little baby who can't feed themselves.
Oil stains, such as those you'd get from working on your car, suggest you're tough, independent, and skilled.
Thus, simply cover your food stains with used motor oil.

Hi-fi videos of the "Purple Rain" and "Streets of Minneapolis" live performances at Target Center were released today by Team Springsteen. Could there be a whole concert film released off the show? I'd say it's a worthy venture.

I’m abiding by the DFL endorsement process because it is how we get big money out of politics. I got my start in politics thanks to the DFL endorsement process. I had no money, no network, no political name, but the endorsement helped me get elected. I literally couldn’t have won without it.
I had to look it up he is 100% correct. It was actually higher (45%) the year I was admitted.
My first year at UChicago was 1991 and tbh it was one of the best things about the place. For one of the most prestigious universities in the world, undergrad was a bunch of random nerds from everywhere (plus a ton of international students, esp from S Korea).
"Information does not simply crystallize fully formed as news the moment it is known. It only becomes news when it has been sufficiently reported, contextualized, excerpted, embargoed, and blurbed by at least three former deputy national security advisers."
a scruffy blond terrier mix named Sherlock Holmes wears a plastic cone and stands on beige tile. he looks over at the camera with a slight side eye.
Sherlock Holmes, the terrier mix, sits patiently and poses wearing a black graduation cap and a purple cancer bandana. after seven rounds of chemotherapy, he has officially graduated from treatment!
Sherlock is wearing a pink sweater and purple leash. he's being held by a person wearing a black long sleeve shirt and jeans and is accompanied by another person wearing a maroon long sleeve shirt and jeans. they all look directly into the camera. this is Sherlock's first photo with his forever family.
This is Sherlock Holmes. He had a cancerous tumor on his side. Thanks to your support of our merch, @15outof10.org was able to cover his $12,000 mass removal surgery and seven rounds of chemotherapy. We’re thrilled to report he's since been adopted, graduated from chemo, and is now cancer-free! ❤️🩹

This isn’t a decision we made lightly, but it might be overdue. 🧵 (1/5)

He had a radio show for years on Air America. I had to listen, but yes it was exactly as unpleasant as you imagine.
And yet those tough votes literally sank Angie Craig's senate aspirations. Sometimes when you vote performatively your constituents take notice.
i think we should start a petition to permanently ban pete hegeseth from the minnesota state fair.
it feels like that’s how you excommunicate a minnesotan. sweet martha signs the order. fairchild throws you to the curb.

GenZ, if you ever wondered what it was like growing up in the 80s with the constant threat of annihilation because governments were being run by psychopaths, well, welcome to the club, I guess.

I took a comparative religion course with Fr. Andrew Greeley and David Tracy (UChicago divinity school) that highlighted how similar Jewish and Orthodox (catholic) religions are in adhering to strict legalistic traditions.
You can find remnants of Jewish law all over Catholocism.
I think a lot of Bluesky users are in the demographic of “people who simply will stop using social media entirely if all the text-based social platforms that aren’t run by unrepentant Nazis (like this one) go away,” myself very much included
I’m about to book a trip to NYC and I will do it with the same bus company if it will save Bluesky

Our office was made aware of an incident involving two bounty hunters pointing weapons at civilians who were chanting at them from alongside and in front of the bounty hunters’ van.
Both have been charged with felony threats of violence and displaying a replica of a firearm.
Dunno, MN6 is going to be really tough. DFL isn't going to invest heavily with all statewide offices up. And if Emmer looks even kind of in trouble the NRCC will spend unlimited $ to save their #3.
100% needed a warning on this.
