CT is what I teach, coding is just the tool. When I teach I never jump into programming first.

Making quality purposeful resources show students you care and raises expectations. If your resources look rubbish how can you expect students to work to a higher standard? I spent an inordinate amount of time in my KS4 resources. What a difference they have made.

The solution is of you do not get a teaching role or role within a school with in 4 years then you have to pay it back.

Difficult to explain-its set up as evidence based. Each part we QA is linked to evidence. The whole faculty is involved. The focus is on students learning rather than focus on the teacher. Then we write an action plan using coaching to further support the learning, it doubles as CPD as all involved

The discourse over twitter & leaving vs staying is getting truly goofy in some directions.

Twitter is not a *place* ffs. Twitter without the people is nothing. We have 100% of the power over whether twitter has value or not.

When we leave, we're not ceding ground? We're taking the ground with us.

If you’re not familiar with the Research Schools network, the following accounts are well worth a follow.

Schools sharing evidence-informed practice through blogs, clips from the classroom, and more.

When Quality Assurance Goes Wrong In this post I hope to diagnose some of the common reasons why school quality assurance fails in its aims. Before I get to that, however, what do I mean by quality assurance? I am thinking of activ…

Next old blog post. This one tries to unpick some of the problems with quality assurance in schools. It also kicks off a series where I explore some aspects of QA in more depth and make suggestions about how to do things better. #EduSky #UKEd #UKTeaching occamshairdryer.wordpress.com/2021/11/27/w...
