Using AI to write code is unethical because the way models were build was by stealing others people intellectual property. If you don’t see an issue with that, you may be part of the problem.

I don’t believe in free expression when what is expressed is intellectual dishonesty. Is the same as allowing revisionistic books to be sold because of “freedom of speech”. I hope bluesky will listen to the users and change its policies or that a more ethical platform will take over.

In the future, under certain conditions and with better laws to protect people against intellectual theft it could become a useful tool, but at the moment it’s disappointing to see it used and allowed here. Also the code produced is not great, only a junior dev could rely on it.

It’s not a question of what caused it or not, the point is that a lot of people jumping on bluesky are doing so under the premise that the network will differentiate from the other SN in its morals and ethics. At the moment AI is unregulated, young, unreliable and a problematic tool.

Getting old is downloading 10 year old let’s plays from YouTube for your home server because you don’t care about watching twitch vods where the creator interacts with the chat more than the game.
