I've always thought that Graham Linehan was a very middling comedy writer.
Most of his efforts (Father Ted, Big Train, The IT Crowd, et al) were mediocre scripts that were lucky enough to have superb casts to bring them to life.
And he's a horrific oxygen thief. Obviously.
