Anyone older than 70 should be able to tell you Fortunate Son was written about the wealthy buying their way out of Vietnam (college exemption, physical or mental unfitness, etc) while all the poor and working class boys had no recourse.
I have never been a fan of Musk and refused to use starlink like so many others in our rural community. Now Musk has breached the treasurer files - who knows what payments he is going to try to stop or who he will sell the information too . For all those using ANY of Musk's products - get off.
We are slaves, oh slaves we are
Of the world today and world tomorrow
Our taxes and bills, will they ever end
The wars and riots, what next will God send
Machines get bigger day by day
And soon to space we will fly away
But still we will be as we are today
Slaves of the world we are here to stay /2
I wrote the following poem in 1965 - I was 12. At such a tender age and here we are today and it feels the same. /1
Those who love the holidays ignore those for who the holidays represent negative events. There will be many people without family or friends sitting home in isolation. Mental health issues spike, especially during Christmas. Consumerism has taken Christmas over.
@democrats.org if you ever want to win an election again listen to and support policies of Bernie, Elizabeth W and AOC. America should have had national healthcare and many of the other strong policies the EU has. Wake up because sticking to the center is screwing everyone.
The rabid MAGA house reps would have ravaged Hunter all to get back at his father. Biden did the right thing.
I cannot see his face or hear his voice without I weep thinking about those I love who voted for him. It is not politics for me, it is the moral values they threw away. Especially those who proclaim in loud voices they follow Jesus.
I weep for the planet and all those in need.
My spirit is broken
My trust shattered
I always thought good
Would win in the end
Now the needs of the many
Are forsaken for the few
Money and power over
Humanity and empathy
Let others suffer they say
Only winners earn rewards
Darkness shrouds my mind
As I see only sorrow ahead
