Hot take: No TV, music or movie star’s kids are actually asking their famous parents what they were like in the 90s.

If he's going to get a national profile on the strength of a younger woman's campaign, I'm going to come out and say it: during his short-lived tenure as a math professor, Biss had an inappropriate romantic relationship with one of his undergraduate students. I was that student.

I think as soon as you’ve cast your early vote you shouldn’t be exposed to any political ads anywhere again. That would definitely drive people to the polls.

UPDATE: the flu shot fought the good fight, but after selflessly caring for his whiney wife, my husband has now succumbed to the flu and is blatantly denying it while he quietly suffers through the shivers and coughing because he’s no whiner.

I’m fine! And side note: My husband did not get the flu. Because guess which one of us didn’t get a flu shot this year?
Side note side note: He is the very best btw, I am a very whiny sick person to deal with.

I don’t go out much anymore because I’d rather hang out with my dogs and do my granny hobbies. I went to a comedy show for the first time in forever on Saturday night and wound up in the ER 2 nights later with a nasty respiratory infection that turned out to be influenza A. That will teach me.

The special is great, and we got to see Jackie open for Maria Bamford last Saturday. Iconic lineup!

My mom’s never been on time with birthday cards for her own child, but she has not missed one year of getting a birthday card to my husband in his birthday since we’ve been married 😂 anyway, happy birthday to the leap baby, love you!

Every photo from Minneapolis looks like this. Cops decked out with guns and full tac gear facing off against people in bathrobes, parkas, and sweatpants armed only with whistles and cell phones.

Yet every verified MAGA chode on X dutifully calls it a riot or violent insurrection.

I know, right? Now I need to come up with a name for when I get stuck thinking 2020 was just like, 2 years ago.

It is absolutely not hyperbole when I say that released detainees could very well die from exposure if it weren't for these folks. www.gofundme.com/f/safe-haven...

Tomorrow's front page of the Minnesota Star Tribune: Jan. 25, 2026

2 months ago 1 0 0 0
Front page of The Minnesota Star Tribune newspaper. The dominant headline reads “Court order didn’t save toddler,” with subheadings about public outcry over the detention of a 5-year-old and a separate story about a grocery trip ending with a girl and her father being sent to Texas. A small portrait photo of a young child appears near the top. The lower half of the page features a large photo of a crowded downtown protest, with people holding signs and flags, many referencing ICE and immigration enforcement. Additional side headlines mention an altered photo of an activist posted by the White House and questions about ICE arrest claims.

Front page of the Minnesota Star Tribune. Headline reads “Children as young as 5 detained.” Main photo shows several federal immigration agents restraining a person face-down on a wet street while one agent sprays chemical irritant toward the person’s face. Smaller photo shows a young child in a winter coat and hat standing beside a vehicle.

There are thousands of Minnesotans standing outside in downtown Minneapolis in -10 weather (not even counting the windchill) fighting for us all today. I love you so much, Minnesota you are my second home!

Going to the post office, then I’m not leaving the house for 3 days. I’ll be under the blanket if you need me.
