It comes from Billy West and other career voice actors that had expressed frustration in the early 2000s that their skillset was being limited to television while features were just casting to sell tickets.

Nah dog you process the ice on the poles to separate the hydrogen and oxygen

this is actually a good idea because a moon base would be a gas station. you need a lot of fuel to get out of earth's atmosphere and gravity. fuel is heavy and if you can leave earth with less of it, you end up needing less of it

A Disney rep said in a statement to Variety: “As the nascent AI field advances rapidly, we respect OpenAI’s decision to exit the video generation business and to shift its priorities elsewhere. We appreciate the constructive collaboration between our teams and what we learned from it, and we will continue to engage with AI platforms to find new ways to meet fans where they are while responsibly embracing new technologies that respect IP and the rights of creators.”

Buried in the Disney/Open AI deal falling apart is that Open AI is exiting video generation altogether

Chappie didn't like anger me but I was in awe at many of its decisions. I knew I was in for a ride when Hugh Jackman pulled a gun on a coworker in the office and suffered no consequences

Rewatching the first Matrix nowadays has such a foreign tone.

Imagine living in a time so mundane and comfortable that the idea that there's an entire secret world of true meaning just hidden from you is an interesting story to explore.

Also there just physically was not room for everyone there to step into leadership and so many leaders there. The stuff blue sky alums are doing out there is so cool. But knowing we are all still on shaky ground that is this industry right now.

I’m an eternal optimist and wear that title apologizing for it, but the silver lining for all of this is seeing that insane talent spread to the wind into leadership roles around the industry. I can say confidently that I know someone almost at any US studio, film, tv, games. It’s really cool

In the end, it was really amazing seeing other studios excited to step up and see who would be a fit for their productions. It feels completely foreign now in this landscape that our recruiters rushed to set up meetings with all sorts of studios. Pixar and Disney set aside spots specifically for BSS

Our animation department grew by 20-40 people that day before shrinking back down to our normal size, left to wonder what just happened and what WOULD happen

We had heard enough rumors of what the meeting was about but as soon as it started and Pixar’s Jim Morris was on screen it was 100% confirmed. After the meeting was done our zoom call became a wake. People started inviting anyone they knew that worked there in the past to join us
