Arrival into Zakopane's excellently modernised station after a 10 hour trip, and safe to say I enjoyed every single minute of the journey! 😊

And on to the scenic highlights of the journey, with the section from Kalwaria Zebrzydowska Lanckorona to Zakopane via Chabówka featuring rolling hills and sunlit station buildings. 🥰

Welcome aboard the IC Nieśpieszny, Poland's new retro-themed charter train aiming to capture the classic travel vibe of past days... this is my ride for 10 hours down to Zakopane! 😍

Just in time to see the new "25 Years of PKPIC" special livery on 193573, which looks absolutely fantastic - I love the chrome vinyls! 😍

Time for a visit to the WARS @DiningCar.at, for a decent breakfast spread, ahead of our slightly delayed arrival into Warszawa Centralna due to overtaking and being overtaken by the same train. 😋

Trying out the very controversial ex-DB carriages that recently entered service with PKP Intercity today, and what a great experience it was on the Kraków to Warsaw train! 😁

Catching the 5am train from Bydgoszcz to Kraków... I usually avoid early morning trains, but even I'll admit that this sunrise was INCREDIBLE! 🥰

This 6.5hr journey cost about £10, travelling in a comfortable compartment carriage.

What a great railtour this was, with the train arriving into Bydgoszcz in time for dinner. It's always great to ride behind such an awesome locoomotive (like the M62), and I can't wait for future trips behind other powerful cargo locomotives soon! 👀

The raw Soviet diesel power of an M62 thundering through rural Poland! 😍

Getting up close with ST44-1228. This machine was built in 1979 (making it 47 years old), and received a heavy overhaul back in 2011.

It's one of over 3000 locos to be built for the Soviet railways and also being delivered to places such as Cuba, East Germany and North Korea! 🤯

Welcome to Bąk, where the M62 locomotive runs around the train, under the supervision of over 100 passengers and local enthusiasts clambering for the best shot! 😅

Continuing along the mainline on this lovely sunny day, with the M62 chucking out a load of smoke as it storms along to Czersk!

Good morning from the Turkol train at Starogard Gdański, hauled by a massive PKP Cargo M62 locomotive (ST44-1228). After settling into my cosy retro compartment, we head south to Jabłowo, a railway line now closed to passengers... 😁

Riding the PKP Intercity shunter locos on these remote rural lines in the north of Poland!

Enjoyed the amazing sunset this evening from the comfort of a 'sofa' seat in a nice compartment car. 😌

Made it to the small, pleasant town of Czersk, arriving at its very well-preserved station. 😁

Heading to Czersk on a Polregio DMU, the SA137 from Newag. Not the nicest train I've been on, with noisy gushing wind and high-pitched whistling coming from the engine.

Glad the scenery in rural Poland looks so nice this afternoon, though! 😍
