Interested in non-functional organic magnetic switches?

We actually do want to make them work — that’s why we study the ones that don’t, so we can make them function :-)

Controlling the Helicity and Handedness of Polyaromatics with Isobenzofuranophane Isobenzofuranophanes are introduced as helical synthons that enable late-stage helicity induction and control in polyaromatics. This remote tethering approach allows precise control over the handedne...

A Supramolecular Nanosheet Assembled from Carpyridines and Water The use of water as a solvent to facilitate supramolecular self-assembly and polymerization is well-documented; however, it is rare that water acts as a monomer that undergoes polymerization. We repor...

Water impacts self-assembly. But what changes really?
In our latest @jacs.acspublications.org at 🇨🇭UNIGE, we ferret out vastly different organisations in wet vs dry solvents that lead to identical macrostructures

Our new preprint introduces a new approach for controlling the helicity and handedness of polyaromatics using a helical cyclophane synthon: isobenzofuranophane.
We demonstrate the applicability by remotely controlling the handedness and pitch of [5]helicenes. go.shr.lc/44yCyln

Conjugated polymers are important for organic electronics, but they usually require side chains for solubility that compromise other properties. What if there was another way?
