Told myself I'd call the vet and book an appointment if cat vomited again and, of course, she timed vomiting again for ten minutes after vet practice closed, just so i get a whole additional night of worrying about it 😔

Don't love how when you google why is your cat vomiting it is either they have a deathly illness OR are just mad at you

google was mixed about whether americans say 'journo' so that's out

6 days ago 0 0 2 0

writing fic with americans is just stopping every 100 words to google 'do americans say this' and i still don't catch everything

Most women i play hockey with either braid their hair for games/practices or wear a bandana under the helmet, which soaks up the sweat and stops it getting in your eyes. Theres a lot of velcro basically everywhere on hockey kit so you want it out of the way!

At its longest, my hair was past my hips (i was a teen) and i could sit on it, now it's at my waist-ish

I usually wear it down when it sleep, but flip it 'over' the pillow so its not down my back, it's up and away from the covers. If im travelling or trying to be efficient I'll put it in two braids for sleep but that's mostly so i dont have to do anything in the morning, not for sleep comfort

Formal i usually wear it down, since i think that looks nice, but will clip the sides up or get a nice looking hairclip if i need it off my face. I don't intentionally style it much - when i was maid of honour the makeup artist did it for me and she curled it and clipped it back

I exercise a lot! Shower after exercise, but you /can/ skip if you really need - the scalp and hairline gets sweaty but the ends dont! I also do my hair in braids before hockey to keep it tidy under the helmet, and that also reduces the sweat impact

1) wash 1-2 a week, especially after exercise. Extra five mins in the shower, then sleep with it wet (not recommended but I've always done it). I airdry and usually dry by middle of the next day (im a night showerer) - I'm in a cold damp climate

I was pondering this and addendum adrian didn't want a pet and then their wife brought home a disabled asthmatic cat who needs a hyperspecial medical box at all times

i listen to a big collection of Boring Podcasts About The News, because i cannot deal with podcasts where people are chatting, but i've been burned by a lot of history podcasts that were....not very good history,, so preference for books! but if there's something good you like i'll give it a try!

i do agree with a review i read that it is inherently challenging to believe ryan gosling has no friends or loved ones because of aforementioned being ryan gosling but he still makes it work

the record was already pretty high too - i really don't think most people understand that we are inches rather than miles from zero fossil fuels on the uk grid! Very exciting ☺️☺️

National Grid: Live Shows the live status of Great Britain’s electric power transmission network

All these numbers are public - you can watch them in real time here. 10pm is like peak bad time for renewables because demand is high and there's no solar but we're still more than half renewables. grid.iamkate.com

Lots of bad and scary news, but today the UK broke its pre established records for proportion of power from wind and then promptly broke it again hours later. Gas was under 1gw, in power terms that's tiny!! AND we were exporting to norway and ireland at the time. We're doing it guys!!!!!!!

the sport is obvs very small in the uk and many if not most players get their start as adults, so it's very welcoming, just small and volunteer run (hence why they all have bad advertising 😅) I'd advocate for lee valley which has a great club but haringey are also very nice

i got started just emailing a team! Usually just drop them a message with your level, what equipment you have (most teams can lend you kit short term, after a few sessions it's smart to get your own skates & helmet), and that you'd like to come to a session!
