Why is his coat so long? And why is his shirt unbuttoned to 1970s Disco dancer lengths?
Don't mind me. I'll just be sobbing into my Doctor Who coffee mug.
By the way, this is three week's worth of stubble. I can't grow a beard to save my life. I am very envious of people who can. I'm also 55 so there's no way I will ever be able to grow a beard and the English professor who lives inside of me is very sad about that.
A not particularly flattering photo of a middle aged comic book artist's chin. It's very stubbly. And for some reason some of that stubble is white. And that is very very wrong.
Not that anyone really needs an extreme closeup of my unshaved chin, but it's been a busy couple of weeks and I didn't have time to shave and I was finally going to shave yesterday but then all the monkey wrenches got thrown at me and now I'm wondering where all this white in my stubble came from!!!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I loooooove it so muuuuuuuuch!
Genuinely one of my favorite comics of the year. I love it so much. Just pure joy. With aliens. And a ridiculously adorable dog.
Everything's comin' up Jadzia!
So looking forward to these!
And so excited for my friend!
Lovely review of AMELIA SHADOWS AND THE NEW HEAD GHOST!
On shelves now!

How many is TOO many, Ron?! HOW MANY?!?!
And I don't know. It just seems like there have been a lot of them.
It feels like there's one or two of them every month. And it's fine. We're all trying to sell comics here. But it very quickly slipped into cliched territory.
That piece is INCREDIBLE, Eric.
We're about one New Comic Book Day from walking into a comic shop and every single cover on the shelves is an Absolute Batman #1 cover homage.
I steadfastly try to keep it positive on social media BUT I SWEAR IF I SEE ONE MORE ABSOLUTE BATMAN #1 COVER HOMAGE I'M GOING TO GO TO THE LESS POSITIVE SIDE!!!
For the love of Kirby, people. It's a great cover. It really is. Now go make your own great cover that people will want to homage.
She has, like, laser eyes for catching tangents in your art. Like, seriously. It was uncanny.
Gabrielle Milano. Keep your eye out for her. She will almost certainly become a force in this industry. And a danger to tangents everywhere.
One of the editors let go today from Mad Cave isn't on here -- Gabrielle Milano. I got to work with her briefly on THE OCTOBER GIRL and if YOU ever get a chance to work with her, I highly recommend that you do. Her editorial career is just getting started, but she already has the goods.
I looooove when you make stuff!!! And this short sounds completely insane. So I know I'm going to love it.
Thanks, my friend!
Today has been one of those days where I don't know how I'm still standing. Just pure chaos. Endless swarm of monkey wrenches thrown at me. But I'm still going to have pencilled and inked 8 pages before the end of it. And I feel pretty damn good about that.
My close, personal (online) friend Maggie is making a thing! And it sounds awesome. And you can help her do it!
I mean... yeah.
This is also a reminder that if you pick up a book and read it, leave a little review, if you can. It really helps series like these get noticed in a crowded market place.
Also, creators just like to know what people think, good or bad.
There's also been a little jump in preorders for the next two books in THE OCTOBER GIRL series, so I'm hoping some readers are liking one series and then going to check out the other one.
And yes, there ARE two more OCTOBER GIRL books up for preorder!
Book Two goes on sale May 26th!
I haven't seen a lot of feed back on AMELIA SHADOWS AND THE NEW HEAD GHOST yet, but I have seen a nice little jump in preorders for the next two books in the series in some online stores! I'm taking that as a good sign.
And yes, there are two more Amelia Shadows books up for preorder!
Having an office to go to was kind of helpful, especially for ADD-addled artists such as myself, but an office in Tampa...? Less than ideal.
A lot of these people will find other jobs in the industry, and that's great, but this kind of stuff leaves scars. And there are fewer and fewer jobs in comics every year. It's just so hard.
Layoffs suck, but there's something about comic industry layoffs that just really guts me. These are dream jobs for people. Often childhood dreams that against all odds have actually come true. And then poof! You're on your own. It's just crushing.
Several people let go from Mad Cave this morning.
It will always be one of the great tragedies/comedies of the industry that Crossgen imploded the way that it did. It had the potential to change a lot of things about how we make comics.
