the gap between actual shooting & the mean isn't the evaluation here. It's just descriptive of the game environment, and what tougher-to-control things went your way.
(Also, I meant FT volume, not FT%)

You're missing the intent. It's not about assuming every game will BE the mean & fluctuation doesn't matter (it's part noise, part execution, etc), it's understanding that games WON'T be, and you need to take advantage when it swings your way.
like what's the point of talking about this stuff if that's the attitude haha. Part of the fun is trying to figure the puzzle out.
ok let's just not talk about the games, then. just watch quietly because there are too many variables.
are people misdiagnosing it, or just diagnosing the levers the Raptors would actually pull?
The buy out would have an $11M cap hit for 9 years …
Individually, Ingram just has to be better.
Murray-Boyles has to play the bulk of the C minutes, as was kind of expected eventually in this series. He's been a massive bright spot.
Some improvements from Game 1, but whereas Game 1 you lost the "Raps positive 3/FT variance" game, tonight you lost the "Cavs bad 3/FT variance" game. Not sure how many of either you get.
22 turnovers & ineffectiveness on the break (which they did more!) too much to overcome.
Collin Murray-Boyles starts the 2nd half for the Raptors in place of Jakob Poeltl
Mitchell provides so much value even without the ball.
Can get himself open repeatedly. Raptors put Barnes on him to neutralize, and Mitchell's gravity removes your only back-line help for Mobley.
AND he's hitting tough shots.
A turnover per minute is historic, at least
Same starters for both teams.
Scottie Barnes finished 5th in Defensive Player of the Year voting.
He received 3 2nd-place and 12 3rd-place votes.
He should be a lock for an All-Defense team (I'd have him First Team, and this voting suggests they will as well).
Immanuel Quickley remains OUT for Game 2
The Raptors won the draw and will select 19th and 50th in the draft.
Jays off to such a bad start we're all getting side gigs
Miseria Cantare 🤘🏻
Thomas Bryant is out for Game 2
Song of Nathan Lukes mixtape
Immanuel Quickley is listed as questionable for Game 2.
Thomas Bryant was trending positive, per Atkinson, but no official designation yet.
The Jays got a hit with the bases loaded. Through god all things are possible.

Love Toronto sports right now
Pretty easy one for the Cavaliers.
Loss is one thing, but you gave 'em very little to have to adjust/tweak. Freebie, tactically.
Raptors have some matchups to juggle (& gotta tweak big usage vs deep sags) but simplification is they gotta be much better, almost to a man.
Scottie Barnes and Jaylon Tyson receive matching techs. Sure.
Might be the last fun I have this game
we were born in the darkness, molded by fake wine drinking and ball spinning
The camera cut to Eric Khoury giving a Gladiator style thumbs down on bad challenges is always good
apparently!
Four years was long enough to forget just how intense every playoff possession feels
