This game was far better than it had any right to be.

Cafe ReMix has gone on temporary hiatus just repeating old events in the interim
TCG Pocket is still doing its two events a month
UNITE has ramped up new Pokémon but simplified them. New Holowear has gone from weekly to every few weeks
It really is interesting to see how, this year, many of the Pokémon mobile games are really slowing down the cadence of their events.
Masters used to have reruns or new events multiple times a week. This week: nothing
GO standard events have gone from weekly to one next month
No it's a CD
It finally arrived. So glad to have the Pokémon Legends: Z-A soundtrack.
There’s so many good tracks in this game.
Plus in general Mythicals are now so easy to get
Currently only Celebi, Victini and Zarude aren't natively available in a Nintendo Switch Pokémon game, and only Diancie, Zeraora and Pecharunt are available but need an online connection due to permanent events. The rest are in.
I do truly feel that we may end up with Mythical Pokémon being legal and viable within VGC in Pokémon Champions within the next two years.
As it's separated from the main series, they can easily alllow recruiting them without worrying about feeding back in.
I think it'll happen
Champions is heavily flawed but fun.
The problem is the fun part is stuff that didn’t basically come from champions but is an existing thing for a while.
Wish I had the time to properly push for Champion Tier in Pokémon Champions but alas, I do not.
Doubt I'll even bother trying to hit Master in most future seasons.
Part of me does miss having the time to dedicate to VGC. Those were good times.
I will never get to beyond 60 on this...my gosh
(Also yes I'm going to run this joke into the ground. I do it every game)
I mean Serebii has been breaking records all year so it makes sense...
Serebii Update: The latest Pokémon Pokopia event is now rolling out globally: Bulbasaur's Jump Rope Contest
Runs from 05:00 local time on April 19th through 04:59 local time on April 26th 2026

Had a battle where I caused a flinch with Rock Slide on the same opponent three turns in a row.
I felt bad.
But I won
100%
As a Doctor Who fan and a Star Trek fan I completely agree. It gives a chance for characters to breathe, for us to get to know them, heck even for growth
However modern television these days is all plot or else you've messed up
People really frequently are trying to confidently "well actually" me lately when they're crazily wrong
This is wild.
Clearly the "Oh crap Pokemon Winds and Waves is going to take a year longer to come out. How do we continue the anime when we have a story with a set end-point"
A year of "filler", let's go
We go through this every single game cycle. We see people hype a CoroCoro up and it's nothing but people still hype up.
I hope I'm wrong, but CoroCoro hasn't been relevant for Pokémon reveals for 9 years.
So I've seen people start to push about CoroCoro revealing new Pokémon Winds & Waves stuff in next month's issue.
While possible, CoroCoro doesn't do reveals anymore. We could get something before then which is covered there though but we'll see
Basically, don't get too excited
We're a week into Pokémon Champions so how's everyone feeling?
I'm not as harsh on it as I was on launch but I still think the item pool is trash and the VP situation is far worse than most players seem to realise, but in time you'll see it. The bugs also suck.
Still fun though
Then Elgato's solution is to upgrade to their new program which isn't fully featured. Like...fix the issue.
Had one recently with Nvidia which broke my capture card's recording capabilities
If I had money for every time a Rock Slide missed Mega Charizard Y, I'd be rich
Also huge thanks to Grind Coffee who sent me out a load of their new Pokemon coffee line including this cool mug for it
It has certainly been helpful in this coverage grind (I’m sorry I had to make this joke)

Now I'm done with Pokopia and Champions (mostly, still some pick up to do), going to take some time to do some catch up on minor stuff that slipped through the cracks on Serebii through the past month and a half such as local GO events and UNIE patches.
Thanks for your patience
The fact I got in the top 100,000 with just 4 matches completed (ending 3-1) is a very interesting thing though.
I do wonder how many tanked just for the rewards or did the same as me and just did 3 battles regardless of the outcome
Over 700,000 people participated in Pokémon Champions' Warm-Up Challenge. This is the highest of any competition, but still behind SV's first ranked season.
It did increase from 610k to 710k in the last five hours so it seems a lot of people jumped on last minute for rewards.
I have absolutely tanked my ranking today. Perhaps jumping on Ranked after a long day was not the play.
Always good to get some recognition for my work on Serebii
Mochi won 2nd place in the handsome dog category at today's Scruffts qualifier 🥰🎉
