So excited to share a new publication from my team! Our findings highlight unique resources/lack of resources that LGBTQ+ college students described as benefiting/limiting their SOGI expression during academic breaks.

Happy #InternationalAsexualityDay! Not everyone's into IT and that's normal and healthy. You're not broken! Asexual people may enjoy sex but not experience sexual attraction or not be interested at all. Quality sex education affirms that everyone belongs.
my productivity when working at a coffee shop: 📈
what a cool paper! glad you shared!
excellent reads this morning! thanks for sharing, as always :)
super cool recent publication on caregiver discussions with teens about online sexual harassment and porn! conversations were uncommon, but when they occurred, parents messages tended to endorse heteronormative and gender norms.

anybody know anyone who did their PhD in HDFS but ended up in a tenure-track professor position in a sociology or women’s & gender studies department? #academicsky #HDFS #sociology
I’m hopefully starting a paper on this looking at mixed-sex married couples (sample is primarily cis + hetero) in the near future, but I’m so so interested in looking at how traditional gender attitudes prevail in queer couples. Your idea sounds very interesting!
Thanks for sharing! I’m interested in how traditional gender attitudes shape sexual initiation and couples’ feelings about initiation patterns, so this was a fun read for me!
Love your morningreads posts. Thanks for sharing.
I don't know how to convince you public education is important if you don't believe public education is important. 🍎 🗺️
For many people, sex happens on autopilot because we follow a script that features a specific sequence of activities. But these scripts can limit opportunities for pleasure and connection. It's time to rewrite your sexual script! www.sexandpsychology.com/blog/podcast...
New report shows that NIH grants fueled $95 billion in economic activity and 407,782 jobs in 2024.
That's not to mention the countless lives that biomedical research has saved.
Show me a better investment than that.

The image is a meme with two panels. Panel one: a cartoon person is captioned "me during spring break" and has their arms outstretched to a yellow ball captioned "finally having time to do nothing." Panel two: the cartoon person is held back by a pink figure that is captioned "the work I put off for the time I'd have on break."

i've been slowly making my way through #whosafraidofgender by #judithbutler recently and it's such a brilliant book. i highly recommend it!
I like it—bigger to-do list and smaller daily ones. Limiting to a handful of must-do’s is a good idea. Thanks!
This powerful excerpt from last week's salon hosted by the Intersectionality Training Institute with Dr. Elle Lett and GenderSci Lab Director Sarah Richardson offers valuable insights on their hopes and dreams for the future of sex and gender science 🌟

A paper I was on was recently published! We examined loneliness in heterosexual married couples and found that husband's and wife's gratitude and forgiveness moderated the relationship between loneliness and relational well-being. #AcademicSky #FamilySci #ResearchPublishing
