My manager FINALLY fired this girl who while sweet was incredibly unreliable & clearly could not handle working 4 days a month and be in university lol it was constantly calling in sick or giving away her shifts or deciding she couldn't work regardless if someone could cover. Good riddance lol

also it's a HUGE CLASS ISSUE. Schools in poorer neighborhoods do not receive enough funding, private schools are expensive, charter schools are siphoning more public school funds, and it's all over the ruling class can keep folk ignorant and manipulated.

Y'all want folk to view media critically? Well first we gotta give folk the tools to do so! And in order to even begin that, we gotta grapple and find a way to fix the whole damn education system which in the US is currently under attack, & has been for years! Underfunding is a HUGE issue!

also I see a lot of complaints about the lack of media literacy in convos about Booktok, and it's like, well ppl need to be TAUGH IT. And aren't, because our education system isn't designed to teach kids and teens these skills, so how can we blame folk for things nobody TAUGHT THEM!
